Very funny and accurate.

Is he guilty of this in the TV shows he's involved in as well?
Well not so much in TV series and that's because he doesnt directly shoot the series that he produces apart from pilots and odd episodes. He started this addiction in Star Trek. Its a nice effect used in moderation but f***, he's all over the place with it and it really detracts my focus on the story. Terrible. In Fringe there is a recurring blue light flare in several episodes. I'm not sure if Abrams is responsible for that, probably did have an influence on its use but its fine, they're mostly appropriate.

Just someone needs to send Abrams to a lens flare rehab clinic!

I loved the nostalgia and the period detail very much too. The acting from the children was also very solid, however I think where it falls down is the adult interactions (and you can almost get out the sick bucket when they hug their respective fathers near the end) and I would have rather they toned down on the special effects a little. I would have thought less is more in this case.
This was clearly a labour of love from JJ Abrams and from an era he knows well and loves and you just can't help but admire all the attention to detail. 7.5/10

I think alot of people felt nostalgic after watching it and really liked the homage it gave to the earlier movies. Just makes me feel like everyones a lot older then me on here. :p But yeah would agree its a really good movie.

Is it just me or are they doing lots of advertising for this film at the moment?
