Lol...no..Captain America guy says that after he wakes up 70 years later. I sometimes end my review with some quotes or references I like.

Hope Prince was a character in a book I was reading at the time I was registering. I know..... not very creative but I can't really fault you since you never know with this things.

Re: Captain America: The First Avenger
top notch film and well worth the 10 min wait till after the credits :)
Re: Captain America: The First Avenger
For anyone who might've left the theatre early, here's a much shorter version of "The Avengers" teaser shown at the end.

Re: Captain America: The First Avenger
ahhh ok for that reason yeah it makes sense at least to scan them to make sure they're not cancelled etc. when i went to potter they'd apparently already let me in and seen my ID which was impossible so having a check list is almost a little pointless too unless people can do them properlyelski wrote:Because a lot of us up and down the country never got to see this film with it being over subscribed so if it is people with fake, duplicate or cancelled tickets then I hope they do crack down on it and use the list like they did for Harry Potter. I don't want to waste another hour's walk come the next screening and find I can't get in again.aruif wrote:why?spyzapper25 wrote:There was a sky rep there so he should of asked of it
no one's ever asked for ID other than for Harry Potter screenings and that was only due to the film's popularity.

Re: Captain America: The First Avenger
went to see this, and up to the dancing girls scene (lol) I was thinking 'this is crap'.
Then it dawned on me that the film is trying to recreate early 20th century pulp comics with its style, a bit like the way Sky Captain and The World of Tommorrow wanted to be but was sorely missing.
With this in mind, the easy fights scenes and global importance of various missions make sense, and its a more fun film. If you dont figure this in, then watching a guy running round with a steel shield beating u[p enemies who have machine/flame guns is pretty daft.
So of course this movie isnt following in the wake of other superhero movies this year. Its not innovative, but it feels fresh compared to the other superhero films this year. The ending leaves you treading water, but its an interesting bridge to the 'sequel', although the now obligatory after credits scene is a bit underwhelming this time.
8/10
+1 for the trailer to The Avengers! woohoo!
Oh yeah, there were only two other people inthe cinema with me, so I sat in Premiere seats, shifted up the arm rests of the seats either side of me and reclined as on a couch on three seats (keeping my feet off the seats).
Ah, bliss!

Re: Captain America: The First Avenger
Yes I got the retro pulp comic look, but it just felt odd with his "lack of superpower". His powers were only really highlighted in the car chasing scene in the middle. I wonder how well the Avengers will do? Better than Spiderman and Batman next year? Well we shall see....

Re: Captain America: The First Avenger
I loved the film, which surprised me as I didn't I was going to based on the trailers.
That said I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to the Avengers and all the other films leading up to it. I do like the way that they are linking all the other films into it. It always gives me a rush of excitement, that and the teaser at the end of each film

Re: Captain America: The First Avenger
The rather wonderful end titles are now up on the always fantastic Art of the Title website (definitely worth a browse if you have the time. Especially the Blue Valentine end titles).
