The Change-Up
Re: The Change-Up
Terrible, I really hated this.
I can handle the predictability, the body swap genre is very well populated and Ive seen many of them, but I found both the lead characters quite unlikeable and the whole thing devoid of laughs.
Maybe I'm getting old, but the characters seemed to be going out of their way to mess each others lives up and the amount of unnecessary swearing, especially in front of the kids was really off putting.
Nothing had any consequences, deals were lost, wives upset and the whole thing just trundle along from point A to B ticking off the body swap staples as it went. When Sabrina was insulted then cajolled into the date I lost any shread of patience I had left with it.
Er, on the plus side I suppose there is a lot of nudity so one for teenage boys to watch out late at night when it gets to TV.

Re: The Change-Up
I have to agree. I am getting more irritated with other cinema-goers every time I watch a movie. I figured I was getting older and more easily agitated, but perhaps people are just getting more rude and inconsiderate...jramjee wrote:The number of bad experiences I've had at The O2 makes me think I should rather wait for these movies to come to Blu-Ray instead of subjecting myself to this kind of hell. I know by now this sounds like an utterly pointless rant as the movie was free to start with so what right do I have to complain, but f**k it man! People are just plain inconsiderate. Why inconvenience others if you don't give a sh!t about the movie yourself? Just f**k the hell off home!

Re: The Change-Up
6pm I think, but OH had been in a while already and kept seats for hdaniel82 and myself. The balcony area really isn't all that huge compared to downstairs, it would fill up pretty quickly.don_datta wrote:How early did you get there? My friend got there just after 6, was told by one staff member to go up to the balcony. When she got up there, was told by another that it was already full up.Beate wrote:Wow. How good is the Balcony at the O2 Sky Superscreen? Just to shake matters up a bit, tonight they opened up the balcony first, and we got great seats. Miles of legroom and a table next to seats. It felt like flying business class. For fully first class we need the champagne and the canapes, but I definitely want to sit there again next time!
And did someone leave a door open up there? There was a light shining on the bottom of the screen, looked like it was coming from the balcony.
I saw the light too, but the light from the door opening and shutting for people needing the toilet would not have impacted on the screen - it must have been something to do with the projector.
Btw, the usher tried to have a go at milkchocmonkey for bringing in food b*ght somewhere else - oh give over. I am sure once he went out, the yoghurt or whatever it was got consumed again. He strangely didn't say a word about everyone's water bottles which were clearly supermarket-b*ght.

Re: The Change-Up
Complete nonsense but it cheered me up. I like Jason Bateman and find him generally funny in a deadpan fashion.
Yes it was a mash up of lots of things done before but it was fairly harmless.
After this past coupe of weeks could totally relate to swapping a day in a legal office to a day roller blading or the like!!! Bring it on!

Re: The Change-Up
well it seems that I made a better choice in seeing Cashback - there were a lot of boobs and more nuditiy than necessary but I was compensated by the canapes, goodie bags and beer

Re: The Change-Up
I've not read through others' views here, but I suspect that I'm in the minority who enjoyed this. That said, it seemed like everyone at the O2 remained for the entirety, but damn, the late-comers were awfully annoying. Shut up and sit where there are free seats. You lose the option of being choosy when you arrive after the start of the film.
Anyway, I've written up my review here: http://wp.me/p1LZHn-3g
I got a kick out of it, but then, I'm like that.

102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Exactly what I wanted to say. Saw this at a very pack Wimbledon and it was too hot in there.alythonian wrote:Complete nonsense but it cheered me up. I like Jason Bateman and find him generally funny in a deadpan fashion.

Re: The Change-Up
There was a short scene that was played mid way through the end credits. Did anyone else watch it? It added nothing to the story and was distinctly unfunny.
