Oh, he's willing enough, but it doesn't seem fair. And it would take me a long time to get through a whole chicken or a pie on my own. When I was a student and discovered cooking, my flat-mates loved it as I used to go round distributing portions of my latest effort, so that I could try something else.

Bevvy, first off I always think there is not enough admiration for people that do lots for their OH's - I know people do it out of love, but still. SO I think you're a very good person> Goodness that's cheesy.

But there must be meals that one could make which would be a good accompaniment to meat so you would have that as your main, whereas your OH would have it as a side dish... what sort of stuff like that do you make already? Then we can think of things that to add to that so you can make 2 in 1, so to speak, and have lots of variety...

anakin!

Thought of you this afternoon because I saw the ideal massive lockable cake container at House of Fraser, oxford st! It's 14 quid but if you use the telegraph/HOF voucher (a fiver) then its just 9 quid! Go up to the 4th Floor and when you get out of the lift turn to the right, and right again - on the tables there....I made a mental note of the name of the product but I'm blonde at the moment so tres dizzy in the process. Its near the cath kidston mugs, jamie oliver mugs, etc...on a table with several of them. Sorry, if my directions aren't too precise and my brain's disengaged but I'm sure you'll find it! ;)

On a slightly different note: OMG MariaLionza!!! I totally missed all the cupcakes! I'm gutted!!!! I hope you ate some for me! ;) Had planned to go for it but had a last minute change of plan - ah well, there's always next year :p

anakin wrote:People, the cake talk is killing me. I am trying to cut down... not really going very well... and I have a strage longing for a nice piece of victoria sponge. Not sure why or why I'd not rather have chocolate cake... but there you go... strange cravings... perhaps I can get hubby to make one again :)
What a coincidence I've been trying to cut down for 6 weeks and had arranged to meet my friend for a coffee after work; I had my heart set on their delicious Victoria Sandwich only to arrive and found they had none left I was gutted it was to be my treat for 6 weeks of being good!
I broke my diet with a slice of St Clements cake but it wasn't worth it and now back on the diet!
