Just got back from Rock of Ages.

I was in row E right along the middle with an excellent view of the stage. A few girls from FMUK were sitting behind me and kept asking me what my login name was but I couldn't remember (sorry about that).

The show itself was great, the story was incredibly cliché but it was clear that nobody was taking it seriously so it kinda worked. It petered out at the end with loads of solo numbers. It would have been better if they had been spread out more. Not much else to say about it really. I loved it.

Went to the stage door afterwards only to be told by one of the actresses in the ensemble that nobody would be coming out. I am not sure how but the couple in front of me managed to blag a 2 posters signed by the cast.

Hey you were two rows in front of my mother and me. You said you were with two other friends, so I guess it wasn't you who kept snogging all through the first half in front of us. At first, the female looked like PXC... but I saw the husband and it wasn't. The couple also arrived late and as soon as they sat down they started kissing and it was at that precise moment that the narrator said 'we need a romantic story' or words to that effect, so I thought they were part of the play at first.

Am not sure I liked the band being called Arsenal, as everytime that word was mentioned, well you can guess who I thought of.

Oh I forgot, my mum and I both enjoyed it.

Lovely to see Funthing two nights in a row, Valda and last but not least, the one, the only [and I thank God there's only one] a_hoodie.
Snogging, us !!! :rofl2:

Sorry we didn't get to meet, hopefully another time.

Rock of Ages was good in some parts. There was some tedium and you can see why it might get bad reviews, it feels lazy in places and the story is rubbish lol. The sound on some of the songs is a pale shadow of the sound of the originals on your hifi.

But the actors throw themselves into the song and dance with verve in group performances covering the breadth of the stage. An upbeat ending leaves you feeling young and happy and your ears ringing with the sound of pennies (and ironically shortchanged if you actually p*y £60-100 to see it).

i mean, really? £60-100. Its a bloody joke the robbery they think they can commit, bunch of pricks who run this show thats worth about £15 max.

I saw that too, don't think it'd be free though. Normally you can leave things at stagedoors to get signed or send something by post with a SASE included, that might be what happened here.

I actually enjoyed this alot more this time around. The songs sounded abit familiar (maybe because I already heard it once) although I had to bug Valda alot to explain things (because of my age you see :shifty:) and also because I wanted the titles of the songs. She was singing along to it! She then had a bottle (of beer?) to drink and awwwww she's just so lovely. So nice to see someone do that.

The guys were getting way too horny in the stalls with all those stockings and corsets
(my corsets and stockings are alot better looking!)

SF, KK, TCMMG and TD - you are not to go to this! :nono:
Their eyeballs looked like they were almost going to jump out of their sockets with all the flesh and the lap dancing etc.
Grandma SS, this is not for you to read! Please look away! :nono:

Although I admit I liked it when the women bent over a few times and the implied sex scenes! ;)
Wish my Syd was with me, she would have loved it.

The seats were absolutely fantastic - best seats I think (must be funthong29's charm ( that initially was a typo but hey it suits the sentence better so can remain! :p Sorry funthing29!). I am not sure why so many people were refused seats in the stalls, the entire back row of stalls (after SunnySaver's row) were empty and the row Valda and Funthing29 sat at was also empty. Good thing I was daring enough to move there before people even took their seats so I managed to sit with Valda and funthing29 in the end! There was also another row in the stalls (Row C) that was entirely empty. Cliveas could have sat there and I went looking for him in the break to come down but he preferred his leg space! During the interval, people then moved into the empty seats.

I agree with Valda and tilly. This musical is highly inappropriate for children. :nono: There were young ones as little as 5. I was not remotely impressed. I appreciate it must be hard for parents to go out and have fun what not but you are parents (and you made that choice) and you have responsibilities. Please don't expose your children so early to such things and allow them to enjoy their childhood. This really is not appropriate for them. They should be watching things like The Tiger Who Came To Tea (I'll be watching that soon and can't wait! :nono: ).

We didn't get the glitter this time around but some other thing that was easy to take off (thank goodness as I would not like to walk home in glitter). I liked the acting this time around and pa*d attention to the storyline too! Lol. It's a wonder how seats make so much of a difference to the experience. Gone from 6/10 to 8/10 (and that's also because I had great company!).

Had a brilliant time with Valda and funthing29 today and it was wonderful to see canadian_turtle, milkchocmonkey, jeancomp (her husband is really tall - had to tilt my head backwards to acknowledge him!) and of course, my most favourite (one and only) and wonderful Grandma SunnySaver. Oh guys, you wouldn't believe but that wrinkles cream she has been using has worked wonders! She looks gorgeous - now everyone will believe she's related to me, she resembles my hot looks! She looked years younger! In the space of one day!!!!!!!!! I only managed to watch this since my Grandma was babysitting and she was kind enough not to cramp my style in front of my friends (Valda and funthing29  ), she sat all the way on the other side watching over me so I owe her one! (On a more serious note, SS really is awesome!).

Gosh you British are uptight! I watched Rocky Horror Picture Show at a young age and it hasn't done me any harm! (or so they say).
