Re: The Ides of March
I haven't been to a Greenwich Picture House screening for over a year now but I often found they were very well attended when I went. I do have to echo what others have advised that arriving 20/30 minutes beforehand eases the stress levels as the staff and systems they use often make it a palaver.
The exchanging of print outs for tickets seems to be an unnecessary delay. I also found their staff to be fairly strict and inefficient at times. I have been asked for ID on some occasions but Greenwich Picture House remains the only cinema that insisted on seeing the accompanying newspaper cutting with the print out (luckily I had this).
Another time, someone who was accompanying me to a preview was hit by a loose bulb in a screening (thankfully they were not seriously injured) and the staff were pretty clueless. So all in all these are some of the reasons I dislike that cinema. Admittedly once you are in - hopefully without a major incident - those reclining red chairs are not too bad (as long as a bulb doesn't fall on your head, Lol). Parking is also a nightmare in that part of Greenwich due to the market.
Did those who were turned turned away get the opportunity to see anything else?

Re: The Ides of March
I think it's the management that's a bit arrogant and inflexible at times, the staff are mostly lovely. I believe it's custom at all Picturehouse cinemas to exchange SFF printouts for tickets and is one of the reasons I like my membership tickets instead. It remains my favourite cinema due to the reclining seats, good legroom and nice incline but yes, the light issues and other things are annoying. Went to see The Greatest Movie Ever Sold with vouchers on Friday and the minute the film started the lights came on so had to run out and tell them and then it took 5 minutes to get resolved.

Re: The Ides of March
Maybe I'm being a bit unfair to the staff at Greenwich PH and I know it's your cinema of choice Beate so you will know better than me, but seems like I've been unlucky. Or perhaps I'm always dealing with management - as I've come across a couple of staff members who were quite arrogant and self important. I have to say I have had pleasant experiences at Greenwich PH - but usually when I've had little interaction with their staff
.
I've been to Stratford PH and Clapham and yes the ticket exchange thing is just as annoying there too (maybe even worse at Stratford, who can forget mess at Inception!).

Re: The Ides of March
Saw this film this morning at Fact @ Picturehouse Liverpool and here too the screening was practically full. We arrived at 10.30am and already a queue had started to form outside. The staff weren't very organised today, looked like they were late opening up and initially no-one was on hand to exchange the sff printouts for tickets, quite a few people got fed up of waiting and just walked upstairs and into the screening room.
My son and I absolutely loved this film. The story was gripping and well-acted. For me Ryan Gosling was the star of the film, he just keep getting better and better. His portrayal of Stephen was superb.
Nice to chat to trickydicky123 and his OH today.

I don't think I did either. I was thinking it though, maybe superhero is a mind reader?
