I have just made chocolate brownies for someone I am visiting tomorrow. I am eating some of them. Negative: This could turn out to be a problem. Positive: I can confirm they taste yummy - nice and sticky.

I also made a lemon and polenta cake. I am trying not to eat it until tomorrow since I've just had brownies (see above). I have made this cake before and can confirm it is delish. Served with greek yog and raspberries. It's difficult not to eat.

I have made my brownie bed and must now lie in it. *sigh*

Is there any cake that is guilt free??? :book:

I've just got back from Fire and Stone, wherre I was meeting a couple of friends, one of whom I'd not seen for about 14 years. I got there about 15 mins early and sat and sat for ages, no sign of my mates. One called and said she was a bit lost but nothing from the other one, until about 6.10 when she called and asked where we were. Turns out she had been taken downstairs and had been there for 40 mins 8O . So all the time I was upstairs alone, she was downstairs! The staff went to investigate and it turns out one person booked me in upstairs and went off duty and a new one booked her in downstairs. Good thing was they gave her the bottle of sparkly she had ordered for free. (£23 ) so good result. Had a lovely pizza with ground spicy beef, jalopena peppers, red onion, mozzerela, sour cream and guacamole. Also had a bruscetta with parma ham, brie and pesto on a bed of rocket. Topped off with icecream

Thats me done now, its Diet Chef till Xmas xv

Much as I love the Xmas meal OH always cooks, every year I really wish I was having a traditional Xmas meal out somewhere, too, especially when I see the mouth-watering menus. Yesterday I was out walking and stopped for tea at the NT property, Polesden Lacey, and was almost drooling over their Xmas lunch menu. But I don't suppose they do tables for one and trying to go with someone else always falls foul of our respective shifts. Perhaps it's just as well!

Tempting fare, some traditional but also really interesting vegetarian options. I'd be spoilt for choice for each of the 3 courses (perhaps I should go, and not once, but twice!) and I'd want the cheeses, too. Then a ride home...
