Re: Christmas
I saw the christmas advert being shown on tv the other day. I have not even started thinking about christmas shopping. Has anyone?

Ha Ha - a few of us have started and finished!
Sainsburys have currently got some good deals i.e. 25% off etc on toys included in their sale. My local one had some lovely winnie-the-pooh teddies (not small ones either) priced at £5.00. They also had things like vtech items included.

Re: Christmas
OOOh I like this topic! I am really looking forward to Christmas. Most of my shopping is done and luckily, the food shopping and cooking will mostly be done by other people so I have a bit of an easy one on that front.
Am b*ying presents like crazy though! Loving it!
Office party...don't know, have only just started a new job and don't know if they even do anything here.
Where I was before (made redundant so obviously the money situation wasn't so good) the party was cancelled so we threw our own little get together.

Re: Christmas
BHS has already started to discount some of their Christmas gifts (which probably mean they were overpriced to start with) so if you are looking for something around the £5 to £10 mark it may be worth a look. The gift of a branded glass, a minature bottle and chocs are quite good for secret santa gifts at work.
Re: Christmas
It is a bit insane how early it all starts. The Christmas lights at Oxford Circus are being turned on tonight.
But I do quite like having something to look forward to in these gloomy days!

Re: Christmas
Just started my shopping so only got a few bits and pieces but finished writing all my Christmas cards yesterday.
This takes so long as we have over a hundred cards to send and several of them have a "catch up news" letter in with them to people we don't see very often.
Used to write all the addresses too but since having a computer the past few years I have saved time by printing sticky address labels.
Most of the big stores have their Christmas tree up now and here in Edinburgh it will soon be time for the Christmas Wonderland opening in Princes Street gardens with ice skating, big wheel, craft stalls and the German Market. Gives the place a good atmosphere for the run up to Hogmanay when people come from all over the world for the New Year celebrations.
