Britain's Wildlife: two guides free inside The Telegraph

Get closer to wildlife on your doorstep and learn to identify wildlife across the UK - only with The Telegraph January 28 and 29.

Introduced by Kate Humble, these two definitive guides to Britain's wildlife will be free inside The Telegraph on Saturday, January 28, and Sunday, January 29.

Saturday's guide shows how your garden can become a welcoming haven for wildlife including birds, butterflies, hedgehogs and frogs. No matter how small your outdoor space, this guide will give you helpful tips to transform it into a useful habitat and it will teach you how to identify the wildlife that you attract.

Just beyond your garden fence, the UK is home to some of the most incredible wildlife on earth and Sunday's guide will show you how to find and recognise animals from red deer to otters, golden eagles to tawny owls, basking sharks to jellyfish.

This weekend is the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch - an event which will see hundreds of thousands of people keeping their eyes on the skies over their gardens and monitoring which wild birds come to their tables and feeders. Anyone can join in - it's free, and gives you a fascinating insight into just what a wonderful and important wildlife habitat our gardens can be. It's not too late to take part, and you can find out more here.
