not sure about all countries but i'm dutch and we are superstitious about it as well. i would assume with the friday 13th films out there, more countries probably are.

my mum was born on a friday 13th though so it's supposed to be a lucky day in our family! :)

Ms Thrifty wrote:Definitely duck weather today! Thought my walk this morning was bad enough for being wet and windy, but the weather is even worse now: torrential rain and hail. Not looking forward to venturing out again but I have to.
We had to draw the curtains earlier against the blinding sun so we could watch the Lord Mayor Show on TV!

The weather really IS ugly now. Luckily the TV programme is quite good today. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is just starting!

I'm really glad the weather is so much nicer today.. Well there are clouds but hey I can see some sun!

Yesterday was awful. I came home for lunch from work and I missed the bus so had to walk it. My socks and jeans were soaked. Luckily when I left it had calm down so I had to change my socks but had to go back to work in soaked jeans. :(

Although, yesterday wasn't as bad as Tuesday!!! I was at Canary Wharf Station and decided to walk down the escalators. Some hot dude behind me was rushing me so I started walking faster. Then I ended up on some wet part of escalator which was so slippery that I ended up slipping right from the top of the escalator all the way down to the bottom!!!!! Oh my goodness, how embarrassing! The station was packed as it was rush hour and everybody was just watching me just fall all the way to the bottom. My friend pretended he didn't know me!! And laughed the entire time! The ratio of men to women were double at the time too which really made my cringe! I really really wanted to bury myself at the moment. Even though my bottom was aching from falling on 30 or 40 odd sharp edges, I concentrated more on being embarrassed. Was bright red. Good looking guy came looking for me and asked if I was okay. Really wish I had superpowers to vanish at that precise moment! :(

The sun is beautiful today. I've got so much to do today though I can't really enjoy it. Need to book my German train tickets, clean the flat, read about a hundred accumulated papers, watch Eastenders omnibus, write Christmas cards, do some shopping.....

A_person, if it's any consolation to you, my OH once lost his balance on the escalators at London Bridge station and would have fallen down if some quick-thinking bloke hadn't run all the way down the escalators to help him get upright again! Was pretty scary to be honest.

Yes it was scary. It wasn't so much that I was falling down, it was the flight that made me scared, the fact that if people were in front of me (which luckily at that precise moment, it was entirely empty to give me a smooth ride!) would have fallen like a block of dominoes and in turn hate me for it but also because the bloody thing was moving at the same time!!!!
