I make my own pack lunch at night (can be pretty hard to do that in the morning unless I'm really disciplined to get up earlier!). That way, I am in total control of my calorie and nutrition consumption, .
anakin wrote: TCMMrGlass, wow, also WELL DONE to you! You sound as though you're losing weight the right way, so though there doesn't appear to be reason to be concerned, I'm sure your doctor will be able to advise best.
You know, after getting Valda, Diane, and yourself's perspective, I feel mighty silly for being concerned about my progress! Funny how the mind works, can be too self critical or paranoid at times. I just also realise, I do weights as part of my exercises and steadily able to go higher resistance. Now if I was losing muscle, I wouldnt be able to do that, would I! Thanks for the encouragement. And that's the great thing about this thread, everyone here is fuelling up inspiration and encouragement from each other.

Perhaps the following link can persuade you to drink low fat milk? ;) As for water, if you drink tea, that is considered a moderately good substitute and can be included within your average 1.2 litre daily recommendation. I'm sure you dont need reasons for why you need to drink more water, its the fundamental engine oil for all living things on the planet!

I am really hard on myself. I've lost 24 lbs but still would like to go at least another 7. Instead of focusing on that, I dwell on the times that I've gone out and had a lot of alcohol or food, and fallen off the bandwagon. I should be easier on myself but I really can't. I just think wasted calories, wasted money wasted weekend with a hangover. I know that if I did put the weight on, it would be gone by next weigh in so what's the big deal?

I didn't go to WW last week and I'm not going this week as I've been away and eating a whole heap of rubbish. I'd rather get back on the sensible eating and exercising and go next week to WW.

Mrglass I too make a packed lunch and always have oatcakes or ricecakes in the office to eat. I have my OatsoSimple at work as well. Occassionally a 2 finger KitKat may sneak in there.

Well I did make myself a packed lunch today and meant to bring in something for breakfast but totally forgot. I managed to resist the goddies though (helped that it was on another floor) and had a cereal bar instead - perhaps not ideal but not as bad as a pastry. I def drink enough tea to get my fluids in but have a bottle of squash at work to up my water intake - easier to drink. Again not ideal, but still, it's not as bad as drinking no water.

I can't believe the amounts of weight people have lost - really impressive. And BB remember, there are no frauds. Everyone has different goals and different aims and indeed lives, so you can't compare yourself to others. Not contructive either. Just take from here the encouragement you need. Also, thinking about it, TCMMrGlass, the daily recommended calorie intake for men is 2500, which probably is part of the reason you're zipping along. Do go and see your doc if you're still concerned though. No harm in it and s/he'll probably just encourage you even more. They like it when we help ourselves.

Sigh... back to work.

Valda, huge congrats on your weight loss too! I think its great that you have a goal, and I dont think its bad to be harsh on oneself as long as it not increasing stress levels. Setting healthy realistic goals is the way. I have my first goal to get to under 15 stone so that I can fulfill one of my long time ambition to do a parachute jump :) I was all set to do it only to be rejected because I am overweight 8O Then next goal is to get down to around 154 lbs (70kg) by end of July, then to put on a bit more again in muscle with an ultimate goal of being the best badminton player in the world...ok in my club...alright, all bets are off but at least its a goal :)

Anakin, you're right, I'm eating a woman's daily recommendation lol. Perhaps I should increase it a tad. Made my appointment to see my doctor for next week Friday. Guess I can wait 2 weeks, wish I could see him sooner though.

Thank you so much Theycallmemrglass and Anakin for your encouragement and I will try to resist, I'm going to London on Wednesday to watch Breakfast at Tiffanys and Bremen on Saturday for a few days but I will try and choose the healthy options and do loads of walking.
I did mean 2000 calories a day for a man to loose weight not to maintain it, you wouldn't have the energy to do all your exercise if you go any lower.
Well done Valda that is superb!

I hope you have a fab time here in London BB. Enjoy it. It is ok to treat yourself a little though - just in moderation! You can do it BB!! I've been thinking about food ALL DAY so have treated myself to a tiny cheesecake (it's literally two bites) so I won't feel hard done by. Tomorrow no puds.

I started out about 6 weeks ago after I came back from a holiday in Italy. All the lovely food and ice cream there really didn't help!

I didn't fit into my clothes anymore and just didn't feel very comfortable. Not terribly overweight but just a little and too much for me.

Have come down from 79kg to 74kg but am now really struggling to keep it off and to lose a bit more. Want to get down to about 69/70kg but can't see how I can do it.

Always bring a packed lunch (couscous, a sandwich, brown rice with veggie chilli) so I'm not that bad. Don't snack a lot during the week (not for lack of wanting!) and work out 2 evenings a week. But I seem to have kind of landed on 74kg now and staying put.

Any suggestions?
