As with others, I thought the film was charming but I do think the trailer does give a slightlly misleading impression. I think that many expected the film to be comedic as they family worked with the animals whereas the story was more to do with the family developping. The film was said to be suitable for children of 8 and it seemed that children younger than that did get restless/bored. They did enjoy the animals appearing but were bored with the family story. I must admit to be being impressed with the acting from Matt Damon & Scarlett Johansen although the children were very good, the little girl to look cute and the boy to be the awkward teenager. I could anticipate a 2nd film appearing . . . a follow-up story! Watch this space! :j

I presume that if this is a film of a book (about a real life event) then there could be a sequel book (or a series of book) in which case a sequel is a possibility. My money is more on a John Carter sequel though.

John Cater sequel will be a definite as long as Disney make money on the 1st film! probably the same for WBAZ!

The book is only a few years old, following success of the movie and/or increases demand for a sequel story there could easily be a second book in the making.

So huge thanks to Beate for saving us the seats. It was a nice film although a bit long. My cousin got bored and restless during the second half and asking me when it would finish. I loved the chemistry between Matt Damon & Scarlett Johansen. Loved Rosie 7/10

Saw this over the weekend - much better than I expected (wasn't expecting much!) [but ScarJo still annoys me]!

Can't add much to what others have said: a slightly cheesy feel good movie, although the fact that it was based on real life made a lot of it a little predictable. Loved all the animals - made me want to go on safari again. I wondered at the end when it mentioned Dartmoor Zoo, thinking it's not unusual to have English place names in the US, so disappointed that they 'stole' another English story. Can understand the Mees will have taken the offer from the highest bidder though.

Rosie stole the show for me. Just toooooooo cute!!! Wish I could get myself a Rosie!

I think I've said this already, but I was really interested to read the Guardian articles and seeing how the story was adapted.

7/10 from me for being quite good, if unexciting...

Preferred cinemas: Most Central London, Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage, Islington, Holloway and West India Quay, Greenwich (O2 / Odeon only) or Stratford City if there is nothing else!
