9/10...so tired right now to write much, so basically what PXC said...who said "what kk, funthing and celini said". This actually felt like a British version of Carlito's Way and its a superbly crafted one, perfect pacing, touching drama, riveting build in tension to that climatic end, and beautiful performances by all including the 10 year old. The actor who played Eustace Diggory in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader always looked like he would be destined to be an excellent British character actor and he has more than proved that in this film. Loved it. Did I give my rating? I did, oh I'll give it again.

Both boys in Wild Bill were just kids not stage school kids. The little one was in Attack The Block and a right little star he is

Thinking about this film in more detail, there were so many touches that were true to life. Jimmy school trousers and clothes being too big ( to make them last ) Bill's embarrassingly out of date chavvy wardrobe (fake Burberry scarves anyone?)

so many cameos as well, and I bet a lot of them did it for nothing or the mimimum to help Dexter out

As other have commented, the poster is pretty misleading, I prefer the one I have as an avatar on twitter

Saw this & really liked it. More so than I did justice in my review I reckon. Feeling a bit writer's blocked today. The only thing that reeeeally bugged my was the scene where T was roughing up Jimmy. The kid's reaction felt entirely unnatural. It's a very cool flick though and deserves to be seen.

I went to see this with an odeon voucher last night. Was expecting massive Hunger games queues and found none. Just two people being served when I walked in. I then headed down to the screen and two other women were finding their way into the empty screen. And no-one else turned up. So three of us watched this, is everyone home glued to their TV on a saturday night?
I think the two women sat at the back forgot I was there as their chatter and laughter got louder and more distracting during the film, in an otherwise empty cinema!

I thought the film was excellent as other people have already said. I agree the poster is misleading they've got Jaime Winstone on it yet not the other women and she had barely a cameo role in it, same for Andy Serkis being on it too.

good movie, with only a hint of the spaghetti westerns its supposed to be themed on, the movie more often lampoons them. Great performances set in the backdrop of a neo-Olympic London.


yeah and I also snuck into the Libertines documentary, which was by contrast the most boring drivel ever. Why make a documentary about some thick blokes who stay in bed all the time? Obligatory shot of one smoking, obligatory shot of same guy drinking.You can see that down the pub. Quote-'It took us a long time to realise why people go to bed' and such pearls of thickdom make this a bowl of tepid porridge. Hardly any live performances, which is the one thing needed since thats what the band do well. In contrast, the Kings of Leon might be boring bastards but at least their documentary fleshed out their interesting motives and backgrounds. This looked like the Libertines had watched 'Under A Tallahasse Sky' and decided to make a london version of it - but they arent interesting, and london cafes and steets are even less so. Why did people p*y for such drivel, esp when its on tv in two months time anyway. Dreadful.

Oh well, yet another movie loved by the majority and loathed by me. Think I need to change my username to Mr Cranky.
Ok ok, I didn't loathe it...it was alright. Props to the director, the lead and especially the older son. Am certainly glad I waited to watch this at home rather than on the big screen as I would've been completely lost after the first 5 lines of heavily-accented dialogue...and I live in East London too, innit? Without access to subtitles I really would not have known wagwan.

And what's up with Andy Serkis' name on the poster? As stellar as his performance was, he was barely even in it for 3 minutes. That's false advertising, no?
Lastly, a movie that's received such words of praise as "sweet" or "heartwarming", I certainly didn't expect to hear so many utterances of the words "f*ck" or "c*nt". Them times sure have changed.

Looking forward to seeing this. I'd planned to see it at the LFF but couldn't afford it at the time!
