A new hotel in London's Paddington is offering 1,100 rooms at £9 per night for stays between 1 Jun 2012 and 28 Feb 2013.
How to book? Via Tune Hotels' site. The hotel is releasing 400 £9 rooms at 12 noon on Wed 21 Mar and 700 £9 rooms at 12 noon on Thu 22 Mar. Of course, with so few available, they're sure to go quick.

It won't be easy to find the deals, you'll have to search manually. Tune Hotels says it will not update its site each day when all rooms are gone. Instead, it will give hints on which dates are still available via its Facebook page. If you find dates that work, please post them in the Tune Hotels forum thread.


When can I go? Between 1 Jun 2012 and 28 Feb 2013. The Olympics period (27 Jul - 12 Aug 2012) is excluded, but 70 £9 rooms are up for grabs during the Paralympics (29 Aug - 9 Sep 2012).


What to watch out for. It's limited to one £9 room per person, so you can only stay one night at that price. There's a 1% debit and 1.75% credit fee (except for Visa Electron).

Confusingly, you may notice Tune's website says there is a £10 'cancellation charge'. Tune's press office says people will not be charged if they cancel £9 nights. When people cancel normal-price rooms within 72 hours of staying, they get a refund, minus a £10 admin fee.


What are the rooms like? This is a no-frills hotel which will normally cost from £35 per night. It’s run on the budget airline model: while it’s clean and does the job, guests p*y extra for towels (£1.50), TVs (£3) and housekeeping (£7.50).

Smart hotel group De Vere Venues is offering 10,000 rooms at £19 for stays between 29 Jun and 3 Sep 2012.
How to book? The hotel chain is releasing 10,000 £19 rooms at 12.01am on Thu 22 Mar via this sale page. The site is likely to be super-slow at this point, so keep trying. The sale ends at 11.59pm on Fri 23 Mar, or when all the sale rooms run out.


When can I go? The sale rooms are available for stays from 29 Jun - 3 Sep 2012.


Where can I go? 20 of De Vere Venues' 29 hotels are taking part, including Barony Castle near Edinburgh, Sunningdale Park in Ascot and Milton Hill House near Oxford. Rooms normally cost about £49 to £110. No London hotels are featured.


What to watch out for. There's a £2.50 fee if you p*y by credit card.
