Firstly the secret location turned out to be Screen 1 Haymarket. Watched film in a packed screen along with Taylor Hirsch, Rihanna, Peter Berg and Brooklyn Decker. They were all introduced to us and all said a few words. Peter Berg when asked why do Battleship said words to the effect that "there's a 12 year old inside all of us"
I wont spoil the film for anyone but the trailer does do it justice....and more !! FX are great, high budget no expense spared. Taylor Hirsch plays the role a la Matt Damon / Mark Whalberg but gives a strong performance. Rihanna is OK but the role wouldnt stretch any actress but as an introduction the big screen she does well....The story gives touches of comedy, a love story, action and even I think some unintentional humour and I thought it was an excellent and very clever interpretation of the Battleship game
I am not normally a fan of these type of films but had a great night 9/10
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Having seen the film at the Capital FM preview 10 days ago and now having seen the trailers on the TV - believe me you HAVE to see this on the big screen. In my opinion it will not transfer well to DVD/Blu-Ray....

A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."
