You are so mean to me but I will seek my revenge (I will get tips from MrG as you know what happened to my Maltesers :noo: )
Just done the Tracy Anderson workout and OMG how unfit have I become, I have obviously mistaken feeling very well as being fit and healthy. I have assumed that because I can walk forever and have no problems lifting heavy objects (ie all my recent trips to the tip etc) that my muscles are fairly strong but this really was a wake up call, I'm no where as near as supple as I was earlier in the year and my arms are so weak its untrue but being totally honest if I took a good hard look at myself naked I would see that my smaller muscles having no definition would indicate no strength. I tend to have a shower/bath then get dressed in the bathroom so never look at myself in the flesh. I've only myself to blame as I've made the choice not to incorporate exercise into my life and to overeat (I'm very happy so its not eating because I'm sad, its too much socialising and swanning around(my favourite past time)) so here I go on the road to recovery.

I'm having a bacon sandwich shortly (akh43 that wholemeal bread is delicious- we stocked up on lots of healthy food at Aldi on the way back from the cinema (its the Village store one)). (450 calories)
I will have 2 sesame ryvitas with cottage cheese and pineapple for lunch followed by a fromage frais and an apple some time today. (250 calories)
Roast chicken dinner with carrots and broccoli and sort of roast potatoes (I parboil them, dry them on kitchen towel and then put them in a food bag with some spray oil, salt, some herbs (whatever I have) and garlic then put them in a hot oven for 20 mins to brown off - you need to keep turning them as due to the lack of oil tend to stick) then its raspberries and ice cream. (600 calories)
As its my treat day I'm allowing myself 1500 calories so need to decide what to have with my spare 200 calories (I don't want to waste it- possibly half an Easter egg or should I have the bag of buttons in it - life's full of difficult decisions)

I can really empathise with what you said about the exercise Diane. I've just done a bit on the exercise bike and the rowing machine yesterday and today. Woah - not good! - I felt as weak as a kitten and had to turn the resistance right down to keep going at all, and even then had to abandon altogether after what seemed like just a few minutes on each. Hmmmm....decided that is enough of that for the moment. 8O

Was quite appalled, but not really too surprised at how far my fitness and stamina levels have fallen. It has been a couple of years since I've used the bike and rower, but even so that seemed incredible. Still no sense in overdoing it. Will have to get back to them gradually. :(

I'm finding the cardio exercises - currently only doing a rather embarassingly pathetic 5 minute session (+ warm up and cool down stretch time) twice a day, tough going too - but then I knew I would find them hard going - I did last time! It will be some time before I'm up to doing anything approaching Mr G's Interval and/or Fartlek regimes, if ever. Still at least I've made a start with exercise of some sort - however lowly.

I am determined though that I will do them every day and increase the time as and when they seem easier. If they ever do! LOL. :D

Today's Food:

1. Pot of Earl Grey tea - Lemon slices. Orange fleshed (is it a cantaloupe?) melon, green grapes.

2. Chicken + cherry tomato kebabs on a bed of salad leaves with a dollop of thai coconut rice and another dollop of pea and wasabi dip (yeah I know! - sounds a bit odd but it tasted quite nice in isolation) Not sure if rice and dip complimented each other brilliantly though to be honest. Messrs Wallace and Torode would have probably had something to say about that. Too many disparate flavours going on for sure!

3. Huge amount (and I really do mean huge) of Raw Carrot and Cellery battons with a fair amount of humous dip. For the first time since my diet started I was really, really hungry!

4. Not sure - probably some sort of fish (have to check freezer later)
with boiled basmati rice and green beans or perhaps brocolli.

5. I've got a craving for toast and smoked mackerel pate :nono: , but may be able to make do with a couple of weetabix with ice cold semi skimmed milk. :cross:

Really Well Done Diane with your relatively restrained choices on your treat day. You've got to be pleased with that. o/ What did you finally choose to blow your spare calories on?

Just remind me how long it will be until you can have chocolate again once today is over. I think Mr G mentioned something about good calories, didn't he? - I may have got that wrong though, so don't quote me!

Managed to persuade my walking mate to cut down our planned walk from 8 to 5 miles this coming Wednesday, on the basis that I don't think I've ever travelled that distance without the aid of an internal combustion engine in my life before, so I will need to build up to it gradually.

Loving the avatar Preston1990 (I do know that malt is a fab source of vitamin B - MrG may suggest it in a different form ;) )

Well done with the exercise don't knock yourself, we won't have any negativity when you are doing so fab and 5 mins will soon become 10 mins. I know what it feels like re stamina as I am a lapsed hill walker (got out of it last year as my walking friend wasn't able to come and its too isolated to go on your own) and as I've exercised all my life I just assumed that I would have retained my stamina, I even did a walk in the peaks last month and was fine but it was my arms and stomach that were rubbish today. We will get there together with encouragement and sheer determination. You are quite right in not doing 8 miles so soon as you could end up injuring yourself as when you are too tired your technique tends to fail and thats when injuries happen and it sets you back so much.

Its next treat day before I can have some more chocolate but have arranged to meet my friend for coffee and cakes on Thursday after work so that will have to be my treat day as there's no way I could do two treat days as I would be shot. I'm into the healthy eating now so just thought that I could up my portion size and have a treat - not sure if that's what I'm supposed to do

Maybe it would be OK to eat malteasers then, if you sucked the chocolate off them first! ;)

I'd check with MrG first though if I was you.

Thanks for the continued encouragement. I think you are right - everyone will hopefully find it easier to reach their own personal goals if we support and encourage each other along the way. I can feel the obsessive part of my nature kicking in here, and whilst that can be a bad thing at times, I think it may just help my determination to succeed with this.

I am certainly enjoying getting out in the fresh air more. Also, it's great to be preparing meals from scratch rather than just microwaving pre-processed convenience foods and eating pizzas. I'm starting to look at the nutritional info printed on food packs when I'm food shopping now and rejecting those with alarmingly high fat/saturated fat/salt etc content in favour of healthier alternatives. Jeez, I feel so smug and righteous- I'm quite sickening myself!! :D

Well done Valda that is brilliant o/ Its my weigh in day today, I use the scales at work so I'll post later.
Its porridge for breakfast
Wholemeal bread garlic sausage, rocket and tomato sandwich with chilli sauce, an apple and a yoghurt for lunch
Haven't decided re dinner as yet either Quorn cottage pie or corn on the cob (what I would prefer but I would be seriously lacking in the balanced meal bit).
Well done everyone we are certainly motivated o/

I seem to have lost a couple of pounds, no doubt I will find them again somewhere.

I keep reading everyone's healthy eating but due to my being so faddy I am just trying to cut out my snacks a bit, which I think is my main problem, and eating my normal meals which in my eyes are reasonably healthy :shifty:

Breakfast: a mix I do myself of 2 tbs bran flakes, 10 bitesize shredded wheat (strange but a habit of counting them) a small sprinkling of cranberries, 3 apricots and 2 prunes chopped on the top finished off with soya milk, warmed at the moment, but will have chilled when the weather eventually warms up.
Mid morning snack at work: 2 plain aldi pancakes (just looked on the pack 85 cals each first time I have ever looked) and an Options Mint choc to drink.
Lunch: A cup a soup with 2 slices of wholemeal bread and fruit to finish it off, a small bunch of red grapes today, but this varies.
Afternoon snack: A goahead bar and another Options Mint choc
Probably a banana before the piccies
Tea: will depend on how hungary I am when I get back from the piccies, either a bowl of porridge, made with water and a sprnkling of soya milk with a few cranberries and some raisins or if i'm feeling bad some cheese on wholemeal toast with beans
I then usually have a couple of coffees throughout the day and maybe one last Options before bed.
Hopefully no snacks, but if I do I am trying to make sure they are healthy or low calorie ones as I have now made sure no chocolate in the house.

Not done much exercise due to my bad feet at the moment, but did quite a bit of diy yesterday so my upper body feels like its had a good workout, not sure whether that counts but surely any activity is better than being a couch potato, which is my usual position.
