Are they that short of people to go?

Re: Safe
It's just standard now for all premieres and considering how desperate some people are to go to every premiere these days, it's a good thing for them to fill up the seats.

Re: Safe
Well, this is how a premiere should be. We were allowed into the pen, and got right up close to Jason Statham, managed to chat to him, get his autograph and have a photo taken with him. Hopeprince and I gave him our premiere tickets to sign and he was like "what cool Safe cards". He was very pleasant going backwards and forwards, signing autographs, having his photos taken, granted there was only two pens, one for fans and one for the paparrazi. And the rain stayed off.
We followed him in, and while he had more photos taken next to the SAFE advertising board, we were ushered upstairs.
The film was much better than I expected. I have not seen a Statham film before. I did enjoy it, and thought it was a slick action thriller with heart, granted the violence was over the top, but compensated by the fast paced action. The script was good, although some cheesy lines, "don't know what to say in moments like these", "what moments is that" "when I am about to kill you" or something to that effect. Jason Statham's performance left quite an impression on me too.
It really was mindless and fun, so 8/10.
Shame we were in the front rows at the IMAX, my back and neck still hurt, I wanted to push the seat back, it was too upright and too close to such a big screen, so quite a lot of the fast action were blurred.
oh, we also got a bag of smelly potato chips, a fortune cookie and a bottle of water on our seats. And thanks to valda for coming with me, I know it must have been quite an ordeal! So much appreciated.

The bad thing is that I actually think the people outside with metro clips got better seats than me.

Re: Safe
Standard Jason Statham flick... ropey plot, average acting at best (surely only Jennifer Love Hewitt is allowed to scream "What do you want from me??? - much less a grown ass man), and lots of bone crunching fight scenes (the guy on the subway train - ouch!!!).
Fortunately, the bone crunching fight scenes saved this film because once they started, they didn't let up.
P.S. Cineworld Enfield is so cool... nothing special as a cinema, just the fact that it's a 5 minute walk home :)

Re: Safe
Kinda enjoyed this one...wasn't expecting to. Had a hard choice between this and the French film though.
The violence is relentless and at times it is hard to see who was who. Not that it really mattered - initially about 3 or 4 different teams...then eventually becomes all against one! (You know the script!)
Main gripe - apart from the speed of the subtitles - was the nonsensical sound effects with each and every punch. They all sounded identical! The gunshots were the same. I mean cum on! If you are going to invest in an action film of this sort, how hard is it to use some decent sound effects? And maybe vary them a little for added realism? It wasn't quite as bad as tyre-squeal on grass - which I have seen on screen before) - but not far off.
Oh, and that accent? He is British, ain't he? He had a London accent last night on telly in The Bank Job.
Highlight of the night was sitting next to biggins - thank you for inadvertantly keeping me a seat in an otherwise very busy cinema. Spot of luck.
