This would've probably been a straight to TV film (for something like the lifetime channel) had it not been for "heartthrob" Zac Efron in the lead which producers assumed would bring the teenagers in the cinema regardless of what the movie was about.
Other than the rather permanent solution at the ending [spoiler](killing the "bad guy" by dropping a house on him like he was the Wicked Witch of the East)[/spoiler] this was a sweet little film that didn't pretend to be more than it was.

Another great Nicholas Sparks adaptation!
Obviously, it's not as good as the book - they never are! And there were some unnecessary edits which derived away from the book, the most annoying being the general character portrayal of Keith. But, all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and I am very much looking forward to watching it again.
Like with all the others in the past, Notebook, A walk to remember, the Last Song etc, I will be b*ying this as soon as it's released.
