I made a big pasta sauce yesterday which will do for today as well, and still leave some for OH when I'm out tomorrow evening. And I've just finished making a vat of spicy soup and am having a rest before I check the seasoning and liquidise it. Was very good (by my standards) yesterday, too, and managed a day without cake. (A hot cross bun doesn't count and it was a wholemeal one anyway!)

Sounds lovely if you have any recipes to share I would love to see them as always looking for ideas.

I will have my weigh in tomorrow as I use the NHS scales and I'm not at my base until tomorrow.
Menu of the day:
All bran and black coffee. (300 calories - I have a large bowl)
Corn on the cob for lunch (no butter) and a yoghurt. (220 calories)
Vegetable curry and rice for dinner (I've not as much as Preston1990 just 2 portions) and 2 kiwi. (400 calories)
I will have something else to eat as not enough calories. I'm also going to b*y some digital kitchen scales today as I'm not sure if my scales are accurate and its a faff weighing out my cereals so I weigh out once a week and then try to copy that amount which is probably hit and miss.

Where are you Preston1990? I assume you're out sourcing some of the larger Wagon Wheels for me ;)

Woohoo! - another Earl Grey fan! Good choice! o/

Don't worry about it being "a long old journey" and "not sticking it out", Valda.

.....The citrusy Oil of Bergamot in the tea will ensure that we succeed!! ;)

As Diane says, we've all made a good start and we will help each other along the way.

And....... :shifty:You know, Valda,..... :shifty: :shifty: ..... Diane really knows what she is talking about. Look how easily she uses the phrases "Shoulder rotators" and "small accessory muscles" - this is not the vocabulary of the layman. She prefers to get weighed on the scales at work. ;) The clues all add up. I reckon she is a seriously committed health professional working in the area of Orthopaedics or somewhere very closely related to it (Physiotherapy perhaps?), so she is a fabulous resource to have onboard at our disposal. With talent like that there's no way we are going to fail! :D

Well done on the bulk cooking, and cake avoidance Ms T !! o/

Love the term "Vat" - Me and my vegetable curry can relate to that ;)

I made some inroads with the rowing machine yesterday. Did a rather pathetic 5 minute taster session yesterday morning. Followed by a more impressive (by my standards anyway) 15 minute session in the early evening. I'm going to try and build that up to 25 minutes.

My plan is to aim for a 35min exercise bike session in the morning then a 25min rower session each afternoon/evening. Unless of course that it's a day that I'm doing walking or proper cycling, in which case I'll reduce the indoor sessions accordingly. :D

I had to admit defeat and decided to freeze my left-over veg curry - eating it for every meal one day was as much as I could take.

Not made a brilliant start on the meals front so far today:

Breakfast - Pot of Earl Grey (good o/ ), Three slices of toast with half a tub of crab pate (not so good :nono: )

Ah well, what's done is done! - No point in beating myself up about it  Move on...

Salad for lunch: - Assorted leaves, loads of crunchy peppers, sweetcorn, sliced spring onion, grated cellariac, and carrots, grilled chicken breast, all drizzled with balsamic vinegar.

Not sure about rest of day but I'm gonna try and be good. I'm thinking along the lines of a salmon or tuna steak with broccoli and some medium thread noodles and sweet chilli sauce. I have this quite a lot I know, but it is sooo yummy!

Be good everyone - get out for a walk in the sun at lunchtime! - don't sit at your desks working!

I believe Congratulations are due to Raineylb o/ I read on another thread that she has lost a pound by simply removing the last two letters of her username. Well done Rainey!!!

I'm considering whether to temporarilly call myself "Preston1990FourAndaHalfStone" so I can pull off a simillar trick. :D

Ha ha I didn't even notice that I did that (Podiatrist by day and Wagon Wheel entertainer by night) you would make a good detective. ;) I'm committed to both my jobs but being an expert in the latter is how I've ended up with an extra 28lbs 8O
I'm no fitness expert that's where MrG comes into his own and nutrition wise its more about peoples nutritional status for health not to get the body beautiful that I'm OK on. As for the Malteser's they do have microscopic amounts of Vitamin B in them but it still counts (That's my evening entertainer opinion).

Yeah, sorry that has taken so long Diane. I phoned your contact at Burton's yesterday as you asked.

He's just got back in touch this morning and told me that unfortunately the one's that you asked him to deliver to the "Long Legs Club" in Manchester are the biggest ones that they do.

Just a thing about tea: I usually drink at least 3 cups a day (usually one earl grey to wake up then green tea to detoxify the body), YET it's a strong ally to kidney stones! My father went three times to the hospital last month, because of that, so I'd like to highlight the fact tea is good... But we have to be careful.
There's a bunch of food in this category, tea is one of them...

Ha ha. I'm so glad that I Googled that at home and not from work. 8O
I think that my Wagon Wheels and my body are more suitable for the Comedy Club rather than your dodgy strip joint :nono:

I'm now in possession of some digital scales (£9 Salter from Asda) and some small food containers and I can see that I'm going to love them :D Just measured out my 75gm wholemeal rice for my curry tonight and have decided to make my own cereal and yoghurt fix as the ones in Asda are 271 calories and I like ones with more fruit in it, just weighed out 25gm granola (thanks Valda for the suggestion) to go with an Activia Greek style yoghurt with honey although not that much difference in calories mine is 250 it looks more substantial. I've b*ght some reduced sugar jelly so I've made some to go with strawberries and a very small scoop of ice-cream for tomorrow. Also I might make a tandoori chicken with yoghurt and tandoori powder, then I've b*ght a Weight Watchers cheese and Onion Quiche which will be lovely with a big salad. Now I need to plan my meals for the week as I'm feeling inspired and need to get back to work now as just noticed the time :noo:

so far today, A small pear, Granola, and skimmed milk. A coffee with 50% skimmed milk and 50% water. A satsuma.

Diet Chef Sausages in Onion Gravy and I added a bit of mash and some steamed green beans.

Later I'm off to Britain's got Talent so will have a Diet Chef soup before I go. I've still got a DC snack I can eat so not a bad day.

I'm very proud I managed 3 days with out a takeaway or anything like that. I did go to Tesco's, looked at the rubbish food put it in the basket and took it out again. All I b*ght was tomatoes, carrots, green beans and satsumas o/
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Quick tip for the yoghurt to go with your chicken: grate in some cucumber, add some ground cumin, some paprika or chilli powder (hot food ups your metabolic rate) and some salt. Yum.

You're all doing so well! Keep up the great work!!! o/

Thanks for the warning about too much Tea Octopus. Hope your Dad is OK now. I understand Kidney stones can be very, very painful.

Thanks for those really tasty tips too anakin.

I came across this, when I was trying to find out more about anakin's suggestion about increasing metabolic rate. I thought that it may be quite useful for everyone:

Some great choices there for healthy eating Valda. o/

It sounds like you are really going for it now with a vengeance.

Ahh Bless! That really made me smile. I can really feel the enthusiasm that you are putting into the meal planning now Diane - you mentioned some fantastic stuff there - I'm gonna steal your Tandoori Chicken idea. Those spices should raise our metabolisms which can only help. Thanks again anakin.

Weigh in day tomorrow for me - and I think Diane now too. :cross:

Well done everyone - Keep off the slippery slip! :D
