I've now got a different vision in my mind ;) I was thinking of you as George Michael in Wham :giggle:

How do you make that? I would love to try it.

I'm shocked to say that at my carvery tonight I could only manage 1/2 a Yorkshire pudding, 2/3 of the pie, one roast potato and vegetables 8O This is so not me, ask any of the "Manchester day out" people and seeing how much I devoured at our afternoon tea they will vouch that this is unheard of.
I'm too stuffed to do any exercise so I will get up early to do my DVD before I go to the cinema and before it gets too hot.

Hope you had a lovely home cooked meal MsThrifty o/

I'd like to know more about the honey and vanilla smoothie too, please, Preston!

Diane65, I know what you mean about being renowned for finishing things and how rare it is not to. OH still remembers, even now, many years later, the one occasion in our entire relationship when I did NOT finish a dessert. Still, I suppose that's balanced out by the time when I had two, but he wasn't there to see that and I'm wiser now (yes, raj101, and older - I'll save you pointing it out!). It just shows that you are eating sensibly. Maybe you were brought up, as I was, to finish everything, meaning that it's not only a case of appetite but conditioning, and a hard one to break?

Anyway, when it comes to restraint (ahem, or lack thereof), OH is as bad as I am: when I offered him a choice to go with his spicy salmon steak, he asked "Any chance of both?"!

Well done everyone for doing so well. Got to agree with MsT, Diane - must be you getting used to not eating more than you need and becoming healthier! Soon enough, your carvery visits won't actually be treats and Preston will have to stop teasing you about them!

Hope you enjoyed the chance to cook MsT! Want to cook for me?? ;)

I can hand on heart say that that has never happened to me and I hope that you managed to recover from such a dreadful situation ;) I think that I would need medical advice if I didn't finish a dessert

Well I got up bright and early and started my DVD at 7.15am before I had my breakfast as still plenty of energy left from the carvery food last night - I must have had too much as the DVD is just short of an hour and I still had a tiny bit of energy left.

Menu of the day:
Smoothie with a banana and strawberries (250 calories) This seems to be my weekend breakfast now and I'm going to sit out in the garden with it reading my book with the gorgeous Liquorice who is already sat on the bench.
Mexican chicken (out of a packet), rocket and tomato sandwich and melon (400 calories as bread alone is 220)
Asda good for you Jalfrezi and jelly (400 calories)
Saving 150 calories for my theatre trip to watch Carousel with my lovely friend akh43 who has invited me as her guest as we are in a box and they serve us drinks and nibbles so would be sad not to have some.

What's everyone else doing today?

You are probably right about not being able to eat as much but it also fills me with dread at what Preston1990 will be teasing me about next  First it was the Wagon Wheels, then creme eggs, then the maltesers, the weighing table and my chubby arms, then the carvery  (I wonder why I put the weight on in the first place? There seems to be a common theme - I quite fancy a creme egg now but I'm just off to make my gorgeous smoothie which will be much nicer and healthier :D )

What was that about a creme egg smoothie, Diane65? Mind what you say, or Preston1990 will have something new to tease you about and poor Mr G might have to divert to Manchester on a mercy mission to get you back on the straight and narrow!

Are you secretly (or not so secretly) sponsored by Waitrose, Preston1990?

Seriously, your smoothie does sound special - now I just need someone to make one for me. Anakin seems to be looking for a cook so perhaps we can do a deal...

Very funny Preston - are you sure it is aisle 3 in every Waitrose - we might not be able to find it otherwise!!! ;)

I never reported yesterday but I have lost 1lb this week. Not as good as last week's 2lb lose but then I did go out for lunch on Thursday and ate a whopper of a pizza!! I know I haven't been so careful with the carb restriction but it is another 1lb gone so that's good.

Was hoping to meet up with Mr Glass today but don't think that is possible now.

Daughter having a family BBQ at lunch time today so will have burger without the bun and some salad.

Enjoy the fabulous weather everyone.

Well done, Biggins! 1lb or 2, it's still great!

MsT - does that mean you'll cook for me if I get you one of those smoothies? I will happily agree to that...!
