I've unearthed my old bike from the shed today, blown the cobwebs off it, and pumped the tyres up, and have taken it for a short, shaky, exploratory ride "around the block". 8O

Both of us seem to be a bit rustier than the last time we were in each other's company, but I feel we're both kind of pretty much fit for purpose still. Because of this, I have decided to undertake a 9 mile bike ride this coming Wednesday as part of my on-going fat burning fitness regime attempt and I'm combining that with a 5 mile walk too.

It's going to be a new departure for me, and I'm just wondering if I could fit a quick 20 min swim in at the local leisure pool on the same afternoon too, because then that would kind of make me a kind of triathlete of sorts now wouldn't it! :shifty:

Of course you would be a triathlete but you have to do all three in the same clothes so you'll have to sport those fetching shorts in the pool ;) You are certainly going for it Preston1990 9 miles on a bike followed by 5 mile walk 8O Good luck and I will look forward to hearing how you get on. o/

Thanks for the "Thanks MsT" - I'm just sorry that it was felt necessary to shuffle my post back into this "Backwater" where the 4 or 5 people who regularly frequent it allready know the story. ;)

It would have been nice to have Mr G's charity sponsorship link remaining somewhere more visible which would have generated more viewings and therefore more potential donations from all the people he has helped over the years. Still if people do manage to stumble across it in here, there's nothing to stop them contributing even now!!

And....of course, I'm just keen to forget about the whole blooming disagreement now before it starts to overshadow MrG's fantastic achievement. Not that it ever could mind you ;) The guy is a legend!! o/
