Image Fantastic jojoanne - that is a lot to lose - how long did that take?
Are you still wanting to lose more or are you happy at that weight now.

I haven't bothered with a ticker thingy as I felt the elephant (or whatever) would be sick of going back and forwards if I have bad weeks. Happy to know that I am losing weight and believe me I'll let you all know when I have lost a stone.

Sometimes stress makes you eat more not less so well done and pleased to hear your son did notice the difference. o/

I think about 3-4 months. I'd like to lose more. But at the same time, I am who I am and I accept I'm not 'perfect' in the ol' figure department!! I like to look nice, but I think like most women (and possibly some men), even if you had the body you longed for, you'd find something else that you didn't like!!

When I have wanted to eat and eat, that's when I've tried to choose the healthy stuff!! And I'm glad I have because then you feel proud of yourself!!

What you have achieved is absolutely amazing especially as you were under a lot of stress. Please don't put yourself down and think of the negatives. I certainly wouldn't be winning anything in the looks department its about making the best of what you've got and being happy in yourself, just because I have generous thighs it doesn't mean I'm unhappy its just I'm on a mission to sort them out. You are one of the nicest natured people I have come across and I'll do anything I can to help you focus on the positives. Thank you also for supporting me when Preston was picking on me yet again (he is a good friend really that I'm fond of) o/

This really touched me and I'm sure that I'm not the only one and you are certainly one of the regulars as it describes you perfectly :D

Good morning all o/

My number wasn't on the list when I phoned last night to serve on jury duty today so have a repreive until I phone tonight and see if I am called for tomorrow. Today the weather is mixed but hubby has suggested we go out for the day by car over to Fife and have a walk round the seaside towns there. He's getting very bored with this awful weather.

Breakfast is granola and a banana and cup of tea.

Lunch today will be ---- Fish and Chips in the famous Anstruther chip shop that Prince William and Camilla have been to. If weather okay will be eaten out of the paper box and sitting down at the seafront - if wet will get a table inside but they always taste better in the open air. ;)

A good brisk walk will hopefully keep the weight off and will have very little to eat tonight to make up for the lunch. :cross:

Have fun everyone.

Eeek - I can see that I'm going to have to watch what I'm saying in future.

One thing though, Diane.....I think that you'll need to turn the heat down on that cauldron of Anakin's pea soup, otherwise it will catch! :p

Anyway........

I hope everyone is feeling good this morning and ready to face another week.

I did my usual bargain searching shopping trip yesterday afternoon, half an hour before the local supermarket shut and I've picked up a load of great deals. I got loads of fresh fish (salmon and tuna fillets) and some cooked king prawns that had been reduced to less than a quarter of their original prices.

One problem that I do have though is that my freezer is already full to bursting (with previous bargains) and obviously you can't keep loads of fish hanging around in the fridge for too long. So what I b*ght yesterday is going to have to feature quite prominently in my family's menu over the next couple of days.

One of my daughters is a vegetarian just to complicate things a little - but hey I'm used to having to cater for picky ;) people by turning out several alternative dishes at the drop of a hat. I'd be the first to admit that my efforts do not always turn out the most edible creations though, as my family would be quick to confirm.

And.....Thank the Lord for the humble, yet versatile, veggie burger and instant noodles. Not great food I know, but both convenient and quick, and what's more important -acceptable to our non real vegetable eating vegetarian - for whom everything must be peeled 8O - even new potatoes and peppers  !

Enough of my rambling rubbish......Here's what I'll be cooking and eating today:

Today's Menu:

1) Croustades of Seared Salmon & Marmite Mayo.

2) Grilled Tuna Steak with Aubergine and Red/Yellow Pepper Couscous.

3) Celery, Carrot Batons and Satsumas for snacks.

4) Garlic King Prawn and Parsley Spaghetti.

Biggins - Your Anstruther fish and chip lunch sounds delicious o/ I've got my fingers crossed for good weather for you. :cross:

Yeah - you have my sympathy there, JoJo! - I'd happily swap some of my deeply unpopular curry for some of your plums ;) :p

Have fun and keep smiling everyone, whatever you are up to today! :D

I've decided to ditch the elephant in favour of a bike!!

Hi all,

It's so lovely coming on here, it's like a big "welcome back" after a few days of not checking out this thread, as everyone asks about how everyone else is doing :-) you all sound like lovely people.

I'm thinking of staying indoors today (am enjoying the school holidays), getting a bit of school work done for September, & doing my exercise dvd. Alternatively might walk to town then swim, but not sure I have the energy!! The damp weather yesterday seems to have sparked off my condition & I'm a bit achy today. One task I'm hoping to do this holiday is put away all my winter clothes in the underbed storage, & tidy up my flat a bit - which in itself can be a good exercise...might start a bit of that off today.

I love seeing people's menus on here - it's interesting to see how many calories are in certain foods. I've never counted calories before; it's made me think that I really think it should be part of the school curriculum. I know class teachers in my school teach children about what foods are healthy and what is not, but learning about calories would give them a real insight into what / how much to eat each day. It'd also be great for their numerical skills, adding everything up. Although I guess the worry is that children are impressionable and they're too young to have to worry about that? I've also always thought children should learn how to manage their money from school age. (Sorry even though I'm on holidays it's hard not to think about teacher stuff ;)

Have a good day everyone.....and hope the weather's nice for all of us thinking of going out for our exercise! x

Hi ClareBarr!! I agree with you that children should be taught about managing their money, from a very young age too. Healthy eating should definitely be taught/encouraged. But I wouldn't want mine to be counting calories all the time when they're going through their 'growing' stages. My daughter is health-conscious, through vanity and a medical condition. It worries me at times because she believes a lot of the 'stupid' advice out there. Mind you, she makes me laugh ... I'm told to b*y this, that and the other because she CANNOT eat any junk - then she goes out with her mates and eats mcdonalds, ice creams, the lot!!!
