She did the diet in April/May so its the new hair that was in the growth phase that has been damaged and now 2 months later the evidence is there, so any diet/ weight loss plan that suggests you need to take any supplements whatsoever is obviously not nutritionally balanced. Its a different ball game if someone is nutritionally compromised due to a medical condition.
Rant over - I do have a bee in my bonnet re fad diets and this just proof of what damage can happen in just 6 weeks. 8O

Wow!! that IS a bargain!!! It's cheaper and more convenient for me to have my shopping delivered once a week. I would have to go at least 5 times a week to feed my family. A bus fare there and back. The delivery charge is less than half the total of bus fares and also less than a cab. So I look for all my bargains online!! I do still have to 'proper' shop once a week, but only to top up and so any bargains would be small ones!!

Anakin, what you said about you'd rather have chips than a six pack, made me laugh :) & also reminds me of a phrase I once heard (I'm not sure where from): "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". Although, I disagree with this phrase - think it should read "slim" not "skinny", seems to be sending out the wrong message.
It was Kate Moss and there was loads of hype about it on the pro anorexia websites 8O :noo: I do agree with children being impressionable and you have to be so careful of what you say. Rainey sorry I din't see your post.

They should bring back my jigsaw plate from 1970 - I can see it now the chicken/fish etc, fitted next to the potatoes and the veg were the same shape as you had to have 2 of them on your plate otherwise it wouldn't fit. It looked better if you had 2 different coloured veg. There wasn't many pasta/ rice pieces as that was a bit exotic

You're bringing back memories for me, Diane, of school dinners!! chocolate pud with PINK custard (lumpy of course!!) .. My mum's friend was one of the dinner ladies and she always gave me and my mates broken shortbread bits at break time!! An unbroken biscuit cost 1p!!! And I remember cold semolina pudding!! I don't remember any dinners, just the afters!!!

You were obviously the favourite jojojoanne as you had contacts - I didn't get any extra shortbread at break time as I was the milk monitor busy delivering the milk to each class with Barry Westwood (he couldn't be trusted as he used to try to have an extra bottle luckily I was there to show him how to behave!)

Menu of the day:
Smoothie with strawberries and a banana followed by a black coffee (250 calories)
Peanut butter on toast (250 calories - one large slice way too many calories to have 2) Kiwi and an apple (70 calories)
Piperade a la Preston (443 calories) with a green salad and balsamic vinegar (40 calories) Weight Watchers chocolate whip with 4 giant chocolate buttons (I have weighed them and they are 13 calories each- I now have a bag in the freezer for such events (100 calories))

Exercise of the day:
A mile brisk walk

Have a happy and healthy day everyone. Hope you're feeling better ClareBarr, aruif and Valda.

Ugh, Kate Moss gets away with so much! I remember that.... but who says things like that?! Shame on her. I mean it though, I'd hate to have to forego fun foods (CHIPS) all the time. It's nice to be slim, but it's better to enjoy life. I think there is a healthy balance that can be struck between the two. I've always been a non-sporty girl, size 10/12 but always enjoyed my food. And chips, in case you didn't get that bit. A friend of mine goes to the gym every lunchtime AND doesn't eat that much. Who can be bothered?! Best to eat better most of the time, do some exercise (I did to Pilates, honest) and be happy, not hungry!

Aaaaanannyyway.

Menus sounding delish, people. Not so sure about the pink custard. By the time I was at school here, the canteen was packed with waffles, chips, pizzas and burgers. In that way, school in Switzerland was better - you go home for lunch, so we had a fabulous lunch cooked by mum! YUM YUM!

I didn't know that you were brought up in Switzerland - how fab or was it a Swiss finishing school? Whichever it was they both sound lovely. When I was at school I had a couple of friends who's parents were from Jamaica and one friend with Indian parents - I used to love it when I got invited for dinner as you got to try such wonderful food. I too love chips :D

Brought up there, though my manners are of course impeccable! *ahem* Yes was ab fab. Very very happy memories, and OH took me there on a surprise trip to propose! My very special country. Won't have a word said against it, haha.

Might have to have chips for lunch. Any benefits for baby?!
