Re: Weight Watchers
Fantastic news Diane and Preston that you both have lost another pound.
It's all that milk you have been drinking Preston that has given you the energy for the strenuous bike rides. Fancy pinching Diane's milk monitor badge - I find you guilty and will leave Diane to decide on your punishment!
Had a lovely swim in the outdoor pool this morning as there was no one else in it but me - bliss!!
Only a few drops of rain so it didn't put me off but obviously it did other people as they were all indoors.
Been to Tesco shopping but no bargains today

Re: Weight Watchers
Hi everyone, & thanks Diane for your well wishes yesterday. I'm having my 2nd day indoors today, hopefully tomorrow will be better. Just been relaxing, hopefully I'll be back into the exercise tomorrow!
I'm pleased to say I'm keeping up my "no coca cola or chocolate" rule. I've lost track but I think it's been a week now (since roughly 23rd July). I've had a few cravings, but have managed to ignore them. I've been drinking water, Copella apple & mango juice, & iced tea as alternatives to the cola; and crackers, fruit, & healthy low calorie fruit bars as an alternative to the chocolate. Am quite proud of myself really! :)
Like I said, no exercise today (apart from a bit of light housework). I've noticed already that I'm looking a bit more toned, especially my arms - due to all the swimming & changing my diet over the past month or so. I need to lose 2 & a half stone in total (35lbs). Was annoyed that I have lost NOTHING this week but am remembering what someone here said about fat turning into muscle first, so am not feeling too bad about my weight yet!! I think my scales at home here are showing that I've lost 2lbs now but gym scales are more reliable so I'll double check on them later this week!!
Diane, that plate in the 70's you mentioned sounds like a great idea to help children learn about what's healthy. I remember my primary school - I used to go home for my lunch when I was very young, as my school was just at the bottom of my road, so very handy! The only thing was, I didn't want to go back to school after lunch! I remember our school dinner ladies, one in particular who was lovely & I always remembered her name, Mrs Miller. (between the ages of probably 7-10). I went back there years later as a 28 year old, to do some lesson observations as part of my teacher training. I saw her! She hadn't changed at all. I showed her old photos of me & my friends, she remembered us fondly. It was a lovely day! And when I observed a lesson, the teaching assistant was the same one I had when I was at school.....she said that made her feel very old!! Nice school memories is what made me want to become a teacher.
Anyway, I digress :) have a good day everyone!

As Preston is not a member of my professional body but is using the Milk Monitor badge plus the member of the jury has found him guilty a suitable punishment has to be foundBiggins wrote:Fancy pinching Diane's milk monitor badge - I find you guilty and will leave Diane to decide on your punishment!
Diane65 MiMo (he'll be scared now its official)!
Well done ClareBarr with keeping off the chocolate and coke that takes some will power and it was MrG our fitness expert that mentioned muscle weighing heavier than fat so its all good - The ticker thing is a great motivator.
Glad you had a lovely swim Biggins - the outdoor pool does sound lovely
Thanks Biggins and Jojojoanne for your support and for being so lovely. (Jojojoanne - I haven't got the hots for BarryWestwood

Well - it's upsetting for me Preston but I'll try...........Preston1990 wrote: You must let us have your side of the story!
Things must have changed somewhat then since we both attended Salford Primary School in the 1970's!Diane65 wrote: ................. I haven't got the hots for BarryWestwood)
Diane used to threaten me that if I didn't kiss her, and give her all of my black jack sweets and aniseed balls every day during break, then she'd tell Miss Johnson that I'd drunk two bottles of milk.
Here's a picture showing her finishing off her first bottle and threatening to start on a second one, to provide the evidence to show Miss.
That's a worried looking me on the right!

"Give me a kiss Barry, or I'll drink this one too, and tell Miss that it was you again!"
And they say schooldays were the best days of your life!
Well done Preston1990 on losing another pound - You sound like a great bloke!

I don't know about losing a pound Preston - I think you have lost the plot!!!!
All that exercising is affecting your brain. Are you speaking to yourself in a mirror like a budgie as well as speaking to yourself on here!!!
