A new hotel in Paddington, central London is offering 900 rooms at £19-£25 per night for stays between Mon 18 - Sun 24 Jun. Tune Hotels rooms in London can cost as little as £35 if you book well in advance, but for this summer they normally cost £50-£95.
How to book? Via Tune Hotels' site, when the sale starts at noon on Wed 13 Jun 2012. The hotel is releasing 150 £19 room nights and 750 £25 nights.

You can book more than one night at the sale price. The sale will end when all rooms have been sold or on Sun 24 Jun - whichever is sooner.


When can I go? From Mon 18 - Sun 24 Jun 2012.


What to watch out for. Sale rooms are non-refundable. There's a 1% debit and 1.75% credit fee.


What are the rooms like? This is a no-frills hotel which will normally cost from £35 per night. It’s run on the budget airline model: while it’s clean and does the job, guests p*y extra for towels (£1.50), TVs (£3) and housekeeping (£7.50).

The detail: The price differs depending on where you're going, of course. We found a holiday in Church Point, Northumberland for a week for £184 (after the 20% discount) in August, which includes access to the park facilities, entertainment and beds made up for arrival. Though bear in mind availability is limited.

This is pretty cheap for a peak time holiday compared to Butlins (£361), Haven (£264) and Centre Parcs (hold on to your seats - £2248!).

Park Resorts won't apply the discount if the price is less than £59 for a short break and £109 for a week. It does not include camping & touring, tenting and hotel breaks. Full info on Park Resorts.

Spend Tesco points in-store and they're usually worth 1p, convert them into Tesco Rewards and they can be worth three to four times the amount. Park Resorts is one of the Rewards included in the Tesco brochure, so if you're after a holiday with it and are a Tesco points hoarder it's worth considering using your Tesco points. Can these deals be beaten?

Do note that the Sun's £9.50 promotion includes Park Resorts. The cost is £9.50 per person for three or four nights, making the minimum holiday price £38. The parks then add on a service charge of £20 and extra for the entertainment, so it can add up. The Sun promotion isn't currently running, however if you have the Sun vouchers, it's worth using them.

Travelodge room sales

The key to bagging bargain rooms at budget hotel chain Travelodge* is timing. The hotel chain tends to release discount £10 - £25 per night sales in tranches, leaving them there until they sell out. Therefore if you look for rooms at the start of a genuine sale, there's widespread availability.

Update 21 Aug '12. How safe are Travelodge bookings? Travelodge has moved to reassure customers bookings are safe after it announced it will offload 10% of its hotels. The hotel chain insists all bookings will be honoured, but do consider how you p*y. See the Travelodge reassures over booking safety news story.
