A bookstore is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking. (Jerry Seinfeld)

What a pleasant surprise this was. Expected to be disappointed and even with the pacing problems in the middle / crazy time-travelling flaws towards the end, I found myself having a rollicking good time. On the other hand, time-travelling isn't something which actually exists so I guess Etan Coen was allowed to take as many liberties as he wanted with the rules. I'm sure there were many long-winded, scientific explanations littered throughout his initial draft which needed to be axed for pacing purposes.

Interesting to note all the Alice Eve mentions in the reviews above. The only other movie I'd ever seen her in was a sweet-natured, highly appealing rom-com called She's Out of My League. As someone who despises rom-coms with a blinding passion, take it from me - this is a good one! The only unbelievable thing is that Alice is meant to be this uber-sexy, bodacious babe which let's face it, she's just not. She's certainly not bad, but far from the sexiest gal on Earth. That honour co-incidentally goes to Nicole Scherzinger (Boris The Animal's girlfriend in the movie).

Overall, great fun and highly recommended especially for Josh Brolin's deadpan Tommy Lee Jones impression. Can't believe this is the same guy I first saw in a laughably daft 80's skateboarding movie called Thrashin'.

PS. If anybody else needs an M.I.B. fix, here ya go:
