Re: Stitches
Having had quite a tiring day today (mostly stuck at A&E), I looked forward to an entertaining film at the cinema tonight. Shame it was "Stitches" - it's strap line says "You'll Die Laughing" so did expect at least some humour, if not having me in stitches. However, it was not funny, it was not scary, and I was totally bored. Perhaps on paper it looked funny. Had no idea who Ross Noble is either, but apparently he was there for the Q&A, which I did not stay for. 3/10
I wish I never got in as while the queue snaked three rows deep round half the foyer, someone asked if they would get in, and we were told that they will try to get everyone in as it was first come, first served, but if not, we would be given a free ticket to see another film, so we did not have a wasted journey. I asked if he was the Manager and he said he was the Head of Events at the cinema. We were also told doors opened at 7.20pm and the film started at 7.30pm, they were not aware what was printed on our tickets, as they had to let the VIPs in first! So VIP had to wait for us peeps to come in instead of the other way round. Makes a change. But then they let us in at 7.15pm, the seats marked reserved were still empty!
I suppose my highlight was to see cinefila and her friend standing their ground and refusing to move up one for latecomers!

Re: Stitches
Having queued for nearly an hour , the OH and I lasted nearly 50 minutes of this before walking out. We've never walked out of a film before but this was truely dire and rubbish. Im a big fan of Ross Noble and felt guilty leaving but we couldn't face it another minute. On the plus side we went to Marks n Spencers straight afterwards and found they had stock of the Ultimate Apple Struddel that they advertised last year but we could never find it. So the evening wasn't a total waste :-)

Re: Stitches
The OH (avisute) and I were near-ish the front. I think there was 10 people in front of us. Still can't believe how bad a film it was. Did you stay till the end of the movie? Did it get any better? We left very shortly after the first kid was killed on the balcony when...
the kid had his head kicked off
prettyxcool wrote:where you at the front of the queue andrew.falconer? Re: Stitches
Lucky I stayed home, sounds pretty awful. The trailer and Kim Newman's 2-star review put me right off.

Re: Stitches
We had VIP tickets kindly donated to us from a competition. Thank God for that as the queue was humongous! I brought my mum along as she is visiting at the moment and loves horror films. Alas, this was neither proper horror nor funny, just ridiculous gore. We saw the whole film but left before the Q&A. Nice to see prettyxcool and OH.
We had found nice seats with no tall people in front of us and my mum was adamant she wasn't going to move to the next seat which didn't have such a great view. Re: Stitches
We also waited for an hour to get in having been told it started at 7.00. Needless to say I was not in the best of moods when it started and hoped that the film would cheer me up. Whilst it was mildly entertaining I'm not going to be recommending it!
