Re: Argo
Saw this yesterday at Southampton Harbour lights which was pretty packed. A thoroughly enjoyable film which didn't flinch from showing America's unfortunate part in the Iran crisis. Also, the fascinating closing shots of the real life protagonists were missed by half the cinema who left when the end credits started to roll.

Went to see this yesterday in Edinburgh. Knew a little about the story but had no high expectations of the film as not really a Ben Affleck fan but like most of the other review's here loved this movie. Great opening scenes which set up the story. A few laugh's at the right moment's and a story well told. A good 8/10

Re: Argo
Saw this yesterday in Clapham. I think it should have said "Very Loosley" based on a True Story - as a lot of the plot was a complete fabrication. As thrillers go it was a reasonably good movie with some pretty tense moments. But I just wish they had stuck to the truth, instead of coming up with downright lies. I used to work for Ken Taylor (former Canadian Ambassador to Iran) when he was posted to New York immediately after leaving Iran - and I would describe him as a very dynamic, assertive individual - not the wishy-washy, characterless “Yes-man” portrayed in the film. However if the film had been billed as a completely fictional thriller, then I think that would have been better.
I was a bit side-tracked by the terrible early eighties fashions and found myself looking at the enormous glasses they were all wearing. I even had a pair myself, which I thought were pretty cool – did I really look that awful??!

Can anyone have a guess as to what I (daringly) put in the "any other comments" box on the feedback form? Lol.

A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."
