Re: Weight Watchers

#3781 Post by biggins » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:30 am

Weighed myself this morning and no weight lose - but no gain either so I suppose that is not too bad as the food I have had this week has not been my normal diet so if I had not been rushing around the building and eating the sandwiches etc. I would have gained. Will get back to my soup for lunch next week and my swimming. Just remembered I am going away for the night on Tuesday to a hotel so that will be a big breakfast and meal at night!!!

Was asked yesterday to do another week's work at the Uni which is good for the bank balance but not my tummy balance!! ;)

Glad you have got your free tickets for Edinburgh castle Diane - MM was just ahead of me pming you about it. o/

Well done on maintaining o/ Doing all the extra work does take up time and then not enough time to exercise and another hotel trip how wonderful. :D

I'm ashamed to say that last night I ate a load of malt loaf instead of my stirfry as ate on the go. Will post later as need to go to work for a bit (only one patient but it helps funding my social life) and just noticed the time :noo:

New day and start of the weekend so back to healthy options.

Menu of the day:
Porridge (300 calories)
Ham salad sandwich with wholemeal bread followed by 2 satsumas (I just love them (400 calories))
Chicken stir fry without the noodles (400 calories)

As I have a completely free weekend now apart from housework (finished extra work) I have no excuse not to exercise , I was intending to wrap up Christmas presents but I did it last night. I need to save jobs for myself when I have free time otherwise I start booking trips, outings etc but need to save for the current social events - just noticed that Florence looks like a really pretty city  :shifty: It will have to go on my 2013 list of trips - got a few on it already.

Have a fun and healthy day everyone o/

Am having a very lazy day today. Been out a lot - possibly every night? - this week and having some downtime. Might do some exercise later.

Went out yesterday for a 3 course dinner at Pizza Express and thanks to reading up on the nutritional info beforehand and having a very low calorie breakfast and lunch, I managed to have a really nice meal out and not overdo it on the calories yesterday. This is what I'm most pleased about - being able to do 'normal' things and not gain.

Florence is a pretty city, although quite dirty, which the locals blame the tourists 100% for. If you cross the river to the non-touristy side, it's nice just having a wander.

I sit next to a food black hole, so I can quite easily accept all of the food in the world, push it ever so slightly in his direction and then 2 seconds later, there's an empty space where the food was. I don't know why he isn't huge, but I suppose I can't complain, it's proving useful at the moment for my diet. o/

You're a woman after my own heart asamaic I go out quite a bit too and thanks for the information re Florence I will look into it for next year. I did do a brisk walk yesterday and will do my DVD today as I'm out every evening this week - Casino for a meal on Monday, cinema straight from work on Tuesday (I will be walking to work as carless on Tuesday) the lovely steve has kindly offered to pick me up from work and the lovely akh43 bring me back, Wednesday working 8 until 6, a committee meeting 6.30 until 7.30 and a lecture until 9ish hence not much movement that day and eating on the go, cinema again on Thursday and nothing planned for Friday so far  .

Had branflakes (300 calories)
Poached egg on toast (300 calories) followed by another 2 satsumas - I will be looking orange :shifty: (50 calories)
We are having an Indian meal tonight (b*ght not made) so I have an Asda good for you tikka massala (400 calories) I will be having 2 onion bhajis with a large salad and lemon juice plus raita to start (300 calories half is in the raita as not homemade hence laiden with calories)

Good luck everyone and have a fun day o/ Please keep posting :D

I hope everyone's had a good weekend. Weightwatchers profits are up - I've b*ght their Greek-style yogurts (yummy) and also have tried their new 'Select' meals from the chilled section of the supermarket. I've tried the Butternut Squash and Mascapone Risotto, and the Piri Piri Chicken with Rice and have to admit that they were both very tasty indeed.
(After all the cooking I've done recently, I've had a weekend off cookng altogether.)

I intend to eat healthily this week and see if I can lose those few pounds that were creeping on again.

I must try some of their meals as akh43 has given me some vouchers to get them for free.

Its Belvita biscuits and a yoghurt for breakfast (270 calories)
Ham salad sandwich for lunch, yoghurt and 2 satsumas (440 calories)
Then its out for the meal at the casino and I have got some good advice from steve re the gambling so I won't be gambling away my house on the 50p roulette table and the 2p slot machines. Its a rest day today but my heart might be racing later thus increasing my metabolic rate ;) (I can pretend as this gambling can be high pressure I believe).

Have a fun day everyone and be good (well as good as possible).

Good morning and confession time already - I had steak, chips and salad followed by a creme brulee (my favourite dessert ever following a meal (its different for coffee and cakes)). Had a fun night last night and have gambled away £10 on the 50p table.

Just had some toast for breakfast (300 calories) which I now regret as I don't really want sandwiches for lunch and for dinner as it will be bread overload but as I'm eating on the go I can't think what else to have

I will get plenty of walking done today as OH now has to go into the office everyday (new boss who won't let them work from home and as he and DD share a car its going to be a bit of a pain - I drive in my job hence need a car) and DD is on her way to Wales I will be walking to work today and luckily just local visits - it wouldn't be too bad but I will have my box of tricks with me which is heavy :noo:

Lets keep this thread motivated over the challenging times ahead. Have a fun night Biggins in the hotel o/
Be good everyone and have fun. We appear to be missing a few members from this thread  I hope that the lady who was insulted by the 2 men in the shop is OK, our lovely Preston, havingascreen, ClareBarr, Ejwrank and Valda and everyone else who participates on here.

Ooh, I bet the creme brulee was worth the calories:)

As much as I now love Pizza Express, does anyone have any other recommendations for restaurants (UK chains or London specific) where you can eat out without putting on a stone? I looked up the nutritional info for Zizzi and, well, I felt heavy just looking at it. Some of the mains have more than 100g fat! :o

Weight down this morning after a few ups, which is fine. I'm finding being bad is ok as long as followed up with a few really virtuous days, so my tummy doesn't get used to being fed so much and my appetite stays normal.

Have a good day everyone :)

Well good luck with all the walking today, Diane -- with that heavy bag. That will take care of that creme brulee. And don't feel guilty about the £10 gambled -- just the money you saved from one free preview film recently.

Don't know about restaurant recommendations, asamaic, but can add the Prezzo do "light options" to lots of their main meals and pizzas.. For some bizarre reason they charge more for these even though it's mainly salad. When I questioned this I was told that salad is very expensive by the waitress -- she obviously didn't have a proper answer. I think it's discrimination against Weight Watchers!

Just back from the doctors as hadn't been feeling well the last couple of days - shivery and running to the loo all the time. Got a urine infection so been given antibiotics to cure it. So haven't been swimming (that wouldn't be good for the outdoor pool) or walking far as need the loo all the time :tears: . Off to the hotel this afternoon and will get a table in the restaurant that is near the toilets!! Will not put me off eating a three course meal tonight or breakfast tomorrow morning - if I p*y for it I'll eat it!! ;)

Your meal of steak and chips sounds good Diane - I couldn't have the creme brulee but it is one of my husband's favourites.

Don't know what has happened to Preston - not like him to be missing for so long - do hope he is okay.

Asamaic - all these pizza places are high in calories and carbs so don't know where I could recommend. As long as it is an occassional treat it shouldn't be bad for you.

Have a good day everyone. o/
