Saw this in Edinburgh. Not sure I agree with all the enthusiasm for this film. Felt it was overly long, although it was great to look at film could have been better paced. Could not feel any real empathy for any of the brothers as you did not get to know them and as for Guy Pierce was there a sadistic cop cliche he did not use. Can anyone tell me what Gary Oldman was doing in this.A great actor limited to 2 scenes that did nothing for the plot. Film was obviously building to a showdown, but more of a let down than a showdown. Sorry but 5/10 only because it looks good.

does anyone else get the feeling that Shia LeBeouf has given up on trying to be liked by the audience/playing the goo guy and is starting to accept roles where the character actually needs him to look like a jerk?

Huh? He played rather a sympathetic character in Lawless.

Sleepy leBeef's character arc reminded me of a similar arc to that of Michael Corleone (please note I am in no way making a comparison to the performances)

Could someone confirm that "Motherfucker", "son of a bitch" and "what the f**k" were commonly used in 30s America?

Apart from this language thing that kept me entertained -when I actually understood what they were saying with their alternate thick and light accents-, I was very very bored!
Wasting such a fantastic cast on such poor script and direction is shameful.

6.5/10

edit: And "Brothers. Gangsters. Heroes"... can someone clarify the "Heroes" for me, please?
