Went out walking today even though it was snowing so felt proud. Am currently resisting the urge to have a cuppa and a biscuit.

Thanks for the motivation guys o/
Hot that your family crisis has been solved and well done on the walk o/

I feel like I'm back in the zone now, my head is in gear and my now not so toned gut (it is one I'm afraid and it wasn't before Christmas :tears: ) is ready to be worked. As I'm on a late start and the man who came to fit my blinds had been and gone by 7.40am o/ I've done a couple of the Youtube workouts which are good fun and energising http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOZDN1UnZ9U as posted by Greece and this one which was on the same link http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... _J8btnIEKQ. (copy greece's link because this ones not opening but the first one is) for some reason my legs weren't going quite as quick doing the salsaing bit but now feeling energised and as they only take 10 minutes each plus another 5 mins warming up and cooling down (I did my own) I have no excuse not to do them each day so if I can't fit in my hour ones I will do one of these instead.

Menu of the day;
Smoothie with large banana and raspberries hence 350 calories.
Garlic sausage, rocket and tomato sandwich with sweet chilli sauce followed by a weight watchers apricot yoghurt. (350 calories)
Tesco light choices chicken tikka masala and rice (450 calories) as going to see Flight tonight
Cadbury's mint option (50 calories) at bedtime.

Keep on with the posting and let's keep energising each other. Mega thanks to Greece for the video links I love them and havingascreen I know you love hula hooping (similar movements) so these will be right up your street

Being really careful with my eating at the moment and I'm calorie counting using the My Fitness Pal app and it's really helping.
I'm also going to invest in one of these to help me with exercising as I don't have a lot of space or money to do much else at the moment.

We had a herbalist/nutrionist visit our offices yesterday as part of a 'Health Week' campaign they are running here. I thought I would share some of his insights:

1. Get 7-8 hours sleep
2. Consume a balanced diet which should consist of:
-Water 1-2 litres a day (too much water drains nutrients from your body)
-Plants (fruit and veg)
-Oils (e.g. olive, fish etc)
-Lean proteins
-Complex Carbs
3. Eat like a King/Queen in the morning (don't skip breakfast ever), a Prince/Princess at lunchtime and a Pauper in the evening. This ensures you burn fat while you sleep whereas if you have a heavy meal it gets stored as fat.
4. No scientific proof eggs contribute to high cholesterol.
5. Exercise 4 times a week - he didn't say what sort of exercise but I think we can work this out ourselves.
6. Take good quality multi-vitamin supplements. Even if you eat everything listed in point 2 above you still miss out on certain minerals due to food storage/preparation methods, soil quality depreciation, food transportation delays etc

Ooh I don't know about that ;) When I'm shaking my stuff doing my exercise I now have someone to blame if I do myself an injury. :giggle:
Thanks for that Rickyraj and its interesting to see a herbalist/nutritionist's take on it as opposed to a dietician's/NHS take on it, its basically as above but with a bit more exercise plus without the supplements as they say we should be able to get it from our diets as long as we haven't got any underlying medical conditions. I must admit getting true fresh produce can be difficult.

Literally just back from Gran Canaria where it has been a fantastic 21 to 23 degrees in the afternoon. Now back to the icy cold weather but luckily no flight delays so back now to get the washing and ironing done and a major shop at Tesco tomorrow morning. Haven't had time to read the back log of things on the forum but will catch up later. Don't mention WEIGHT as I have had the most delicious meals - and drinks and nibbles - for the last two weeks. In fact the last few days the waistband of one of the pairs of trousers I liked to wear in the evening was digging into me so much I could wear them anymore.

It happens says me who has been a bit remiss of late  I'm doing one of Tiffany's today as on limited time as going out for a meal tonight another friend's 50th.

Menu of the day:
Belvita biscuits and a weight watchers apricot yoghurt (280 calories)
Garlic sausage salad wholemeal roll and a weight watchers nectarine yoghurt and 2 kiwi (300 calories)
Meal out at Gusto's but I will have a large salad with a balsamic vinegar rather than olive oil dressing here it is copied from the menu - Romesco chicken salad with goat’s cheese, rocket and aged balsamic and I will drink loads of water with it - thanks to Rickyraj for the water reminder as have been drifting towards the black coffee instead

Have a fun day everyone and keep posting then we can inspire each other.
