Re: I am
I'm still here. It did get packed up by the time the movie started. We're currently in the middle of a debate with Tom shadyac and tony hawks.
The movie/documentary was quite entertaining. Not sure I agree with all of it but it definitely makes you think.

Re: I am
Saw this tonight at a packed Empire screening. Not the big screen and it was also for some standing room only.
Nice to have the director to give a short intro to the film.
Well this is a documentary which you are either going to b*y into or not. Quite a short film at 75mins and originally released in the US in Feb 2011 so it has taken a little while for it to get over the pond. The premise for the film is that the director of the film was a successful Hollywood comedy film director ( i.e. Ace Ventura and a whole other Jim Carrey movie vehicles) until he had an accident which left him with an illness. This in turn led him to question his lifestyle and what happiness meant and this film his is story in pursuing answers of how he can change the world and are we all connected. So he and a crew of 4 go around the world interviewing intellectuals from Science to Religious leaders in search for answers. Interviewing Noam Chomsky and Archbishop Desmond Tutu and a host of other intellectuals. In pursuing the answers he turns his back on his materialistic trappings as well.
I have to say there was some bad science and the scientific part all looked a bit dubious with an institute called "Heartmaths." The scientist in me has to keep an open mind and I would like to read the papers from the institute and get some proper peer review on it's work. The other part of me was saying what a load of ........
People are going to take away different things from the film but for me the message from it was for me to change the world was to do little things and these things count. As an individual your not going to change the world but if everyone does it then maybe just maybe something may happen. So from tomorrow I am going to try and do at least one kind gesture.
I stayed for 15mins of the Q&A and then left but what was apparent from the director was his passion for the film and his message. My only question next is that if he has a message to spread then surely he should release this film through the net and not through the cinema.
7/10
P.S. On the panel for the Q&A it was Tony Hawkes the comedian...if it had been the skateboarder would have been so stoked!!!!!
