Hotel chain Tune is selling 2,000 rooms for £19 and £29 at two of its London hotels when you enter an online code. It's for stays from Mon 2 - Thu 31 Jan 2013 in Paddington and Kings Cross. Rooms usually cost £40 - £60.

How to book? Via Tune Hotels' website. Enter the code JAN13PD for stays at Paddington and JAN13KX for Kings Cross in the promotional box on the homepage to take you to a page listing sale rooms.

Some nights have more sale rooms than others and the sale ends when all 2,000 rooms have gone.


What to watch out for? Sale rooms are non-refundable and there's a 1% debit and 1.75% credit card fee.


What are the rooms like? The sale rooms on offer are doubles without a window for £19 or with a window for £29.

Tune is a no-frills chain offering basic accommodation. You'll have to p*y for hairdryers (£1), TVs (£3) and extra housekeeping (£7.50).

From 12noon, Thu 17 Jan, smart hotel group De Vere Venues is releasing 8,000 rooms for £20. The sale's being advertised at £10 per person, but since at least two people must stay, the cheapest you can get a room is £20. Rooms at De Vere Venues usually cost between £49 and £100.

The last time De Vere ran this offer its site crashed due to heavy traffic and many had difficulty booking. It’s said it has done everything it can to prevent the same happening but we say be prepared as the site may have issues.

Where can I go? 20 De Vere Venues are taking part including Ponsbourne Park near Hertford, Cheadle House in Cheshire, and Milton Hill House near Oxford - all of which were awarded a certificate of excellence by TripAdvisor in 2012 for consistently being rated at least 4 out of 5 stars by travellers.
