Re: Weight Watchers
I'm ashamed to say that I have put on 2lbs this week
It was purely comfort eating and not moving my body over the past week after the purse saga. I'm so annoyed as the weight I put on over Christmas was pleasurable where this has been eating for the sake of it and not really enjoying it apart from the Bakewell tart that akh43 treated me too I did enjoy that and because of her lovely company. I had got my head into gear re healthy eating and now this
Hence 5lbs heavier than what I was in September plus still want to lose an extra 3lbs so from what was just a few lbs is now over half a stone
How's everyone else getting on?

Re: Weight Watchers
Hello everyone,
I've enjoyed reading this thread for sometime and think you've all done incredibly well!
Over the last couple of years I've managed to lose 3 stone, but unfortunately last week I got weighed and discovered I've gained 7lb's. I've decided to get back on track and aim for a 10lb weight loss. One thing I could start with is introducing more exercise into my daily routine.
Cheers.

Re: Weight Watchers
Hi guys, hope you dont mind me joining in this thread , im going to try to post what i eat and what i do i for excersise as much as i can like you guys do , but to start my first post on this thread ii'll just post what i generally do on a normal week :)
here goes..
i usually have breakfast at about 7.15 which is normally a cup of tea (milk no sugar) and either a banana or an apple, i drop my kids of to school at 7.45am (they start at 8am) and then head to the gym , i run 30 mins and then a mix of cycling and rowing for the next 30 mins , and the days i lift weights (2-3 times per week) i will lift for for about half hour which is normally about 4 excersises.
After ive finished the gym ill get home and straightaway have a protein shake for my mid morning snac kand also to recover from the workout, if i was lifting weights then i will have 2 servings mixed with 400ml milk (workous out about 56g protein including the milk) if just cardio then 1 serving mixed with 200 ml milk (28g protein)
As im self employed i'm very fortunate to be able to work flexible hours around my days plans so i will start work at about 10am (most of my business is done in the usa so the late start is perfectly ok due to the time difference) , i will normally have lunch at 12 - 12.30 and this usually left overs from the night before (my office is at my home so i again very fortunate to have home luxuries) , i dont claim to eat super healthy so i can tell you that leftovers are usually indian foods (chicken curry rice etc ) and if i am having sandwiches then its usually does contain full fat mayyo etc i dont go overboard with the unhealthy foods and the same with healthy foods , but i do have a glass of orange juice every lunch time :)
mid afternoon is usually cup of tea with either apricots , banana or apple (depending on which i had for brekkie) followed by another protein shake ( 1 serving mixed with water or milk dependng on mood)
Evenings is normally indian food nearly always with rice , the indian food we make at home is not like the the ones from the takeaways or restaurants where they use lots of ghee and butter , we use either olive oil or corn oil (if anyone wants a tip to make AUTHENTIC home style indian food then use CORN oil when making your curries :) ) we usually have veg side dish too or a salad. if i'm in the mood for dessert then wont stop myself although i dont indulge in desserts too often but my wife is a baker so we do have some amazing dessrts around usually at the weekends
Bedtime is normally about 10.30 pm but half hour before goign to sleep i will have another single serving protein shake mixed with milk
Thats generally my routine, i also go kickboxing once or twice per week this will be in the evening and i will make sure i am not lifting weights that morning. I will give myself 1 or 2 complete days off from excerise per week too (usually weekeknd) and after a few weeks i will take a break from excerisisng for 3 or 4 complete days on the trot as it does catch up with me and the body does need a good rest every few weeks.
Also when i eat out (usually on movie nights !) i wont stop myself from eating anything, i will enjoy and indulge in whatever i fancy :) and i dont drink alcohol at all so 'im saving a lot of calories there
I'm not the PERFECT shape (as diet is not perfect) but im very happy with myself and dont let myself go , i think if you excerisise and keep at it the discipline will naturally set in and you will eat moderaetly and generally well by nature , your body and mind dont crave the comfort foood as much especially if your getting the same endorphins fix by excersising instead :)
Although im not a professional in giving advice on health i do think that so long as your eating well and enjoying comfort and indulgent foods in moderation and exercise regualrly then you can enjoy all the good things in life and be happy too , one thing i do know for sure and from professional opinion is that excersise alone or dieting alone is more or less a waste of time , they MUST be done together in order to get into and stay in shape , the percentage should about 60-70 percent diet and 30-40 percent excerise but only if done together
I've just realised i have written a whole essay (with no doubt numerous spelling errors)!
I'm sorry if i've gone on a bit and i'm sorry about the rushed typing especially towards the end but hopefully my shared experience helps in some way or other :)
Heres to a happy, healthy and fuller life to all !

Re: Weight Watchers
Loving the post moviemannn and welcome to the thread. What an impressive post obviously a professional - my shakes consist of raspberries, a banana and milk made in my trusty Kenwood chefette blender (now 26 years old and still going strong - the mixer not me it was a wedding gift). The exercise regime is amazing, I do my DVD workouts in the living room with the curtains closed and do Greece's youtube links in my pj's before I get dressed
I would love to have some of your authentic Indian recipes as I do like cooking and Indian is my all time favourite food and I too never drink alcohol.
This thread is just brilliant and no wonder that you post on the inspirational thread
You are all so inspiring and I really do love reading everyone's different takes on health and fitness

Well now I know how you get so much done, Diane. You obviously have more than 7 days in your week (is that a Northern custom???)!
