Death Race: Inferno

#1 Post by prettyxcool » Sat Feb 02, 2013 12:20 am

Can't see a thread.

I went to Death Race: Inferno after all. The reviews on Hyde Park on Hudson was not that good, and it sounded rather dull, and I wanted some excitement tonight! And the clincher was that Barbican as a location did not appeal to me when Central St Giles is so nice and so near home.

The screening was held in NBC Universal's offices behind Centre Point, and what an amazing building, very posh indeed. We were given stickers so we could go in and out as we pleased, as the "Ladies Room" (what they called it) were out on the reception side, and the screening was upstairs. We were served drinks, and very more-ish nibbles, chilli crackers, cheesy popcorn, crisps, and olives. However, was surprised only about 12 people turned up. The screening room was very, very new and quite large, looks like eight rows of eight, so it felt very empty with so few people.

The film was really, really, brutal. Never saw the other Death Race, so did not know what to expect. Did not understand the point of the story, acting was truly bad, the dialogue was terrible, loads of plot holes, but I actually enjoyed it! It was awesome in the sense, it was fun, silly, fast, over-the-top, and I was on the edge of my seat. It entertained me, and there was some surprises. 6.5/10

I think it was a twitter comp. I didn't enter that one as I had too much choice for last night already and I usually don't have any choice on a Friday night!

Yes, it was a twitter comp. This one was through @Burtons_Menswear. Shame they tweeted they had 30 pairs to give away, and only 12 people turned up! There was a lot of other things on last night, though, so that may be why.

Here's how nice the screening room is, and empty, most of us were sitting in the back rows ;)
