Just came across this and HAD to share immediately on here

***HOW VERY TRUE*** LOVE, LOVE LOVE THIS**** DO YOU WANT TO BE A WHALE OR A MERMAID? A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was “This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?” The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way: “Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness. They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia. They sing incredibly well and sometimes they are even recorded on CDs. They are impressive and dearly loved animals that everyone defends and admires. Mermaids do not exist. But if they did exist, Mermaids would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: Am I woman or am I fish? They would have no sex life and could not bear children. Yes, they would be lovely but they'd also be lonely and sad. And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side? Without a doubt, I’d rather be a whale. At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends. We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn’t enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies. We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated. Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: “How amazing am I ?!"

How to stay motivated
Diet gone to pot? Work-outs just a vague memory? If your good intentions have fallen by the wayside then it’s time for a mental re-boot.Top motivational life coach, Pete Cohen shows us how to make the changes that really last.

DO write down the change you want, asking yourself some fundamental questions like ‘Why do I want to do this?’. You have to have a big enough ‘why’ to have a big enough reason to make that change. If you later falter, go back and re-read it.

DON'T be unrealistic. Can you really get a body like Gwyneth Paltrow’s? Also that’s quite a limiting goal as you need to work out what would be the realistic long-term benefit to you – think your goal through rather than making it out of desperation.

Can I be a dolphin rather than a whale? :)
Rest day for me but might go in for a swim with the kids at lunchtime. I go to my parent's for dinner on a Sunday so maybe some swimming will give me the extra calories needed lol. Have a great day everyone

You can't beat the correct footwear for the job and well done to you two gentlemen with the running (I can't run :noo: I've never tried as I much prefer walking and my DVD's and of course Tiffany's workouts.

Thanks Diane65 - the half marathon is the only reason I run.

BTW, does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives to lamb? My diet is mainly chicken and fish but I do like the occasional other meats (beef, pork, turkey) but I understand lamb to be high in fat so I'm going to stop eating it (well, maybe have it on the odd occasion). I'm getting a bit bored with my diet. Thanks in advance.

hello everyone o/ I'm going to post my little diary of my cognitive behaviour therapy in here if no one minds. At least I'll know someone will see it.

So I b*ght a couple of sessions with Hypnotherapy to try and sort out my sleep problems. I went on SAturday and basically I have to go to bed and get up at the same time everyday 8O 'How Can I see Films, Watch TV? NO Lie ins?' This is the only thing I've not tried, for sleep disorders. She wanted me to go to bed at 9pm and get up at 7am. I've negotiated for a 10pm bedtime
Doing this will set my inner clock to how a normal person's works hopefully.

Saturday I was supposed to go out for drinks, didn't, went to bed at 10pm

Sunday woke up early and turned round and went straight back to sleep. Got up about 12.30pm
This failure set me off on a binge, so I ate a massive bag of chocolate peanuts, a big bag of fruit pastilles, A strawberry milkshake and a fried egg with 'Free From bread'

Went to bed at 9.30 but didn't read much, no cigarettes, and an audiobook sent me off to sleep.
