Thanks girls if you two says its worth a visit I will definitely go and the castle looks brilliant plus it was the home to a count which makes it more exciting. Got so much to see over the few days I'm in Lille so will post back on my return and let you know how I've got on.

I'm afraid that it already finishes tomorrow.

OH and I had a fabulous anniversary weekend in France and were so lucky with the weather, given the dire forecasts and the bad spells there have been. Such rain/storms as there were, were overnight or in the early morning/late evening; otherwise it was dry, hot and sunny - perfect for all the things we crammed in, such as a steam train trip, a cruise round the bay, visiting castles and so on. We're already planning to go back but for a week next time.

Great choice, would go back to the West Coast in a flash! Make sure you stop off in Santa Barbara, Carmel and Monterey, and allow plenty of time for SF, there's loads to do, not least visiting all the legendary movie locations!Timbo wrote:I'm planning a USA west coast road trip for October/November.
