I hated that film, everyone else didn't, don't fear.

Re: Kick-Ass
Yes, the Haymarket was packed - arrived just after 6pm and surprised to see it was already half full. Me and my friend enjoyed it for the story and hit girl (she was good and comic!) but the violence was too much for us (which made me jump out of my skin every time and groan with shock), but as it is a comedy, I suppose it has to be very over the top. If you like violent computer games, you would probably love this.
I know we clapped at the end because it was a relief that it was all over!

Well I'm firmly in the "awesome" and "one of the best of 2010 so far" camp, despite the violence and the fact that it couldn't possibly have been aimed at my demographic. Hard to categorise but easy to enjoy.

Re: Kick-Ass
It was a FMUKker reunion tonight! Arrived at 6.05pm to find already loads of seats taken but got a few good ones upstairs, then the girl in front turned around and it was a_person! Saw bevvy and hdaniel82 (and valda waiting outside). 5rannoch texted me that she couldn't come which was a shame. It only started at 6.45pm, after a delay because people were still streaming in, and a couple of trailers (Robin Hood and Repo Men).
I laughed a lot in the film, the humour was quite good, but the violence and gore spoiled it for me as I had to shut my eyes when Hit Girl and Big Daddy were slaughtering people. I honestly cannot laugh at a super gruesome way to make someone die, and as great as the little actress was (and I know her from somewhere), it was just plain wrong to show her being beaten up by Red Mist's dad. So I have mixed feelings - as a spoof on teenage and superhero films it was good, but it didn't have to resemble a violent computer game quite so closely in my opinion. The OH loved it though, and it was clearly more entertaining than the other rubbish we have seen this week.

Bingo!
LOL, I just looked at the cast list - that was Aaron Johnson? I didn't recognize him and I saw Nowhere Boy - how embarrassing!

Re: Kick-Ass
Tonight I seen kick-ass in glasgow, I thought it was a good film and quite funny in parts, but I also dont know about the violence on the little girl, or indeed the amount of gory violence in the film. My friend didnt enjoy it one bit right from the off, she found the first few minutes a bit vulgar and wished they would turn the sound down a bit, as it was overpowering in parts, but I suppose the cinema is at fault with that one. Now I just cant wait for my next preview.

Re: Kick-Ass
Shame, I so rarely go to a London preview and there were so many other members there but I didn't meet any of them.
