Poor follow-up, nowhere near as good as the original. Quite disappointed by it, very little in the way of fun or surprise, but then I did worry when they hired an unknown to write & direct the sequel. At least Joan Jett got on the soundtrack again! 6/10

If you're so inclined, hang around for the extra scene after the credits... ;)

oh no !

The original film relied heavily on the shock / novelty of a 12 year old girl saying "c*nt" & dispatching the baddies with extreme violence....

The same trick does not work with a 15 year old girl.

No magic here....avoid.

So disappointed.

4/10

The original Kick-Ass is a work of sheer perfection. Slick, original & genuinely perilous with several iconic sequences to boot.
I love it so much, mere words cannot do it justice.

This one is dull, clichéd, pathetically edited and poorly-written with each character reduced to a caricature of their former selves.
I'm not that surprised honestly. I just had no idea Jeff Wadlow lacked any sense of directorial vision whatsoever.

If there is a sequel, for HEAVEN'S SAKE, can we please have the Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman dream-team back?
Pretty please?

very disappointing. Non of the cleverness or shock value athe12 year old Hitgirl had. Aaron Taylor Wood looked far too old for playing a student and it made the pairing seem even more strange. As loud as it was I started falling asleep several times. 4/10

ps the fight in the alley scene was filmed down 'Tin Pan Alley' off Charing Cross Road
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Went to see this earlier this evening and although it wasn't nearly as good as the first flick I still enjoyed it (sorry  ).

Perhaps my expectations had been lowered by the scores previously posted on this thread but at the end of the day I thought this was a solid (albeit inferior) sequel that more than merited getting a 7/10 from me...

Dare I say this.... but the first film did nothing for me. SO I doubt I will enjoy this at all!

Pretty much my reaction.

Inferior to the first one but still really liked it.

Not sure i'd agree that having an 11 year old girl swearing was a "novelty" or "shock value worthy". More that it was an accurate production of her upbringing and environment, so seeing that carried over here and dealt with more was great.

The film was a little weird though. It felt rushed, but i didn't feel like anything was missing. The structure seemed competent enough. The editing flowed well for the most part, but it felt like i was missing alot of stuff, yet all the neccessary information and development was there

But yeah. Really funny, competent film making (not great, but certainly not the mess that alot of films this year have been). Good twists on a couple of "been done stories", like Hit-Girl being normal. Its not her that wants to be normal, its everyone else forcing her in that direction. In real life i hate the pandering/social constructs that bully and guilt trip people into following a certain pattern of thought only because its "acceptable". So this really appealed to me on a surface level. It also produced a nice "shove a Lion into the Corner and see what happens" plot.

Overall, Circling around the "Meh" drain. Nothing totally awful, nothing totally exceptional. Drastic downgrade from the first film, but not unenjoyable or painful to sit through.

6.5/10

Absolutely GREAT !! This film is my best of 2013.

The cinema was alive with laughter and reaction.
Majority of the cinema goer's clapped @ the end.

Didn't stay right to the end as needed the facilities but somebody posted it on YouTube.

LOL not sure how ones lets slip a spoiler when ones not seen it.

What I wrote was that Chloe MOretz isn't a suitable candidate for playing the comic's tween Hitgirl anymore - shes physically too old. You must mean something different, though I wont say what cat you let out the bag (spoilers!).
