I wondered how on earth I was supposed to keep tabs on all the characters, but I needn't have worried, as they were bumped off with remarkable speed once it got going. This wasn't really scary but quite gory - a real slaughterfest with an astonishingly high body count. It even did get a little funny at the end. It was a little predictable in that I guessed one or two twists but it was much better than Black Rock.
I wouldn't ever want to see this again though.
6/10
If you don't mind me saying - that's pretty high marks considering it's not your preferred genre.
I loved it, but my OH gave it about the same as you (not his type of genre either). Slasher fans should be quite pleased with this little number. I know I was.

Seen this in Glasgow tonight at a fairly well attended screening, I loved it! fab fab fab!
Starts off a little shaky for the first 10 minutes laying the limited groundwork but whoa it kicks off and when it does it is pretty much relentless gore! not really scary but phoaaaar!! it's gory, did i mention it's gory!! and it's funny yeah! it's funny, it's gory and if you like that kinda thing then it's worth a watch ;-)
a solid 7/10 from me xoxox

Yeah - I didn't "enjoy" it in that I thought phroar, must see this again, but I've seen worse films - especially that insufferable Black Rock.tibba wrote:Beate wrote:This started a bit shaky and boring with a happy extended family meeting around the dinner table in a (obviously) remote cabin in the woods. Definitely a movie you can watch once (even with me enjoying it a tad bit more than you - lol).Beate wrote:Yeah - I didn't "enjoy" it in that I thought phroar, must see this again, but I've seen worse films - especially that insufferable Black Rock.tibba wrote:Beate wrote:This started a bit shaky and boring with a happy extended family meeting around the dinner table in a (obviously) remote cabin in the woods. So, you're telling me that I had a lucky escape missing out on seeing Black Rock, eh? Kept on missing free screenings (it was on too early the first week), then it was on too late to go the following week. I wanted to see it. Sounds like fate was steering me away from it. I'll watch it when it comes on TV, and let you know if I can tolerate it slightly more than you did - lol. I certainly didn't feel compelled to p*y to watch it.

Re: You're Next
Only annoying downside was the lights coming on about 3 minutes early in West India Quay. Didn't exactly spoil the ending, but still, it was distracting.

Can't say that I've seen Tormented, but I'll certainly look out for it if it's of similar style. Would you recommend it?caitlinmorton wrote:This remind anyone else of Tormented, because of the comedic elements?
Was it a free screening? You guys get so much more freebs than we do. You're so lucky.

Didn't know you were there too! I did mention it to the usher on the way out and he apologised, not that it does any good afterwards.LondonCityNights wrote:Only annoying downside was the lights coming on about 3 minutes early in West India Quay. Btw, they seem to have given up the annoying "wait in the bar" directive, or have we just been lucky this week? We walked straight in both today and yesterday.
