A brave, well acted and original debut from Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Getting a well deserved 7.2 on IMDB (16,414 users). 7/10.

People masturbate to porn !

Is anyone really shocked / surprised by this anymore ? (other than JGL)
Well that's not really the point of the film is it? Don Jon is interested in why people crave porn so much, how a steady diet of porn can subtly change you and the wider pornographising of culture..
I couldn't agree more. I think that some people are underestimating JGL who I think has produced (in a holistic sense) an excellent movie as his first directorial debut. There is so much more to this movie than just porn.

Decided to give this one a another try and have to say that it does seem better upon second viewing. It definitely made more sense and seemed less repetitive. Still not fantastic, and definitely not hilarious.

Upping my score to 5/10.
