I've always been intrigued by the story of JFK's assassination and because of this I thought I'd be really into this film, but I have to say I was disappointed. There were too many people they tried to focus on without actually saying anything about them. There was no emotional connection and virtually no interest (from my end) into what was happening to them. The only characters I wanted to know more of (and I initially assumed this film would focus on, it is called Parkland after all) were the doctors - but did Colin Hanks even have more than 2 lines in the whole thing? Really disappointing.
6/10 - marked up slightly for the first half hour, which was the only decent thing about this film.

Re: Parkland
I was expecting the story to focus more on the events at the hospital, the staff that worked on that historic day and their emotions/reactions to what happened. Having said that, I still liked the movie, found it touching and quite well done. What a fantastic wacko Mrs Oswald was, what a moving story Robert had. Definitely feeding my JFK assassination fascination.

Re: Parkland
Here's my full review. I think the problem with the film is that it sets out to present the Kennedy assassination in journalistic detail and clear up misconceptions. The problem is that it's NOT journalism, and in showing us more and more details just confuses matters. Still not bad exactly.

Re: Parkland
I enjoyed this film and it was interesting to see how it affected the people around the incident. Mrs Oswald was as nutty as a fruit cake and if the son was anything like her then its not surprising the way he went.
I was surprised that they let Abraham keep the cine film as I would have thought it would have had to have been confiscated for evidence. Don't think that would happen today.
Very moving and good to see what happened to the real people film based around. Mind you a lot of them did not live that far in to old age......probably all that smoking.

Abraham requested several copies, one of which was his. The others were given to the various agencies.Nosila50 wrote:I enjoyed this film and it was interesting to see how it affected the people around the incident.
