Predictable, baggy and a bit creepy at times (especially Kevin Kline's character) but overall I think the star power of the leads won out and there were enough chuckles and laughs to make it worth the trip.

Good cameo as well :D 6.5/10

A last-minute surprise for me as I thought OH and I were going to see Mandela, but OH cried off, so I said I'd hope for another chance to see a Mandela preview and went to this instead.

Much better than I expected and for me it it breathed new life into the bromance genre, though I'm somewhere in the middle with my rating: neither a total rave nor a write-off; say 7 or 7.5/10. Definitely a feelgood film and thank goodness for some humour without too much smut for a change. I wonder if this appeals more to viewers closer to the age of the stars? I wouldn't have called them "old age" as stuartboy did, but that's a minor quibble, probably based on my own age and I'm not sure what alternative I could suggest as "middle-aged" is equally impossible to define. Las Vegas looked just as hideous as I imagined, but that's one of the benefits of films - you get a glimpse of the scenery without having to travel.

Mary Steenburgen was wonderful and absolutely shone; great to see a reasonable role for an older actress, even if her part was more a supporting one than a lead.

This was actually ok. Not great but not bad either. I can see others comparing this is to The Hangover. Four guys going to Las Vegas for someone's stag party. Only difference is these guys are pension aged. There were a few jokes, lots of booty and a wee story.

5/10
o/ I agree with Yinster! I found the film ok but definitely nothing special. It could easily pass as a made for TV movie.
Great cast but I do wonder why these "big" stars get involved in this kind of film. . . I suppose I do know the answer -- MONEY! :p
It's not an unpleasant film and if you've nothing else to do go and see it . . .
I think I'd have felt cheated if I'd pa*d to see this so glad it was free
Marks 5.5/10

ps It's great to see how different FMUKers have viewed this film . . . it takes all sorts!!! :giggle:
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Oops I thought the film was called Las Vegas not Last Vegas. Which is much cleverer with the play on the words. Ach well

If it does well enough, what could they call the next one and where would they set it? Given that it was left with an event in the offing which could provide the excuse for a sequel, but that it could hardly take place in Las Vegas.

Lol. Point taken, although I have just looked up the ages of the main actors - de Niro - 70, Kline - 66, Douglas - 69 and Freeman - 76. Assuming they were all playing their own ages then they qualify as OAPs - over 65. "Old Age" Pensioners. Actually they were initially 17 and then the film jumped 58 years so we do know the ages they were meant to be approximately. No ageism was meant. Honest. ;)
