I thought Ken's accent hit new heights near the end in the car with Keira and he briefly turned into Gru :D

I guess the secret is out - tsoiboy can time travel. He travelled to tomorrow then came back to tell us all about the film.
So that is where he has been, to tomorrow's Mayfair Hotel screening! :giggle:

It was a very poorly attended screening in Hampshire Lots of empty seats I found the film a bit uneven A bit slow, a bit boring... And then action!!! I had 2 boys with me both just about 12. They said it was Ok. My OH made a comment that Moscow was shown quite favourably I probably agree with him on that. To sum it all up - 1 pound well spent! But still 6/10 as it didn't meet my expectations I kept thinking about sex and the city after i spotted one of Kerry's love interests in the film....

btw tsoiboy it's monday today! I'm sure!!!

This could have been a mindless action move but it was all a bit cliché and predictable so ended up middle of the road. The accents were dodgy, the dialogue was cheesy and acting was very bland (Costner seemed perpetually bored) but the action was OK and things picked up in the last half hour. Not the worst film I have seen the year (Out of the Furnace, I am looking at you). 6/10.

Would agree Out Of The Furnace was much worse but least that didn't have a scene where someone is trying to complete a computer download before he can escape from the bad guys who are closing in on him.How many times has that plot thread came up in a film, feels like every film that involves computers.

I haven't seen this yet but just remember Sean Connery had a pretty dodgy Russian accent in The Hunt For Red October. Or Sean Bean's Irish accent in Patriot Games. I do like the other Jack Ryan's films including The Sum Of All Fears which isn't in the Paramount Pictures new box set but was in the old ones.

prettyxcool wrote:What is going on with the two queues though, firstly we waited outside then was told to go to screen 2, whereupon we had to line up yet again just before reaching screen 2, in a cordoned off queue, which I nearly missed, and had to sneak back by ducking under the cordon strap, next to Beate who I was with earlier outside! Finally, just as Beate's OH needed the loo, we were let in, but we were quick enough to get the back two rows. Then the lights promptly went off, but promptly came back on, as obviously told it does not start until 6.30pm, when it did start were subjected to five minutes of marketing for Times+
They always do that and it's always the same marketing for their talks, it's getting boring I am afraid.

I felt so bad, OH just at the wrong moment needed the loo, he ran off but couldn't find the men's loo, I ran after him, couldn't find it either at first (in a poorly sign-posted corner), then the queue was moving and because we'd just passed the screen, we ran back in, next to PXC, got our seats, then got OH to the loo. Argh. I hope no one thought we were queue jumping! I tried to find the Times+ girl to give her our printout, but she was nowhere to be seen.
