Re: Kick-Ass
I really enjoyed Kick-Ass, highly recommend it - although a little girl saying the C word was a bit much (even if it was staying true to the original comic)

Re: Kick-Ass
this movie is great. i've seen it twice now in the cinema and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. i got to say that it's one of the best comicbook/superhero movies to be made in the last few years. 9/10

For those who love the film may like this official music video featuring the Kick Ass cast in character playing out a new scene. I think there is a little controversy to it but anyway here goes:

What's the controversy about? That's infinitely tamer than the film.TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:For those who love the film may like this official music video featuring the Kick Ass cast in character playing out a new scene. I think there is a little controversy to it but anyway here goes:

Re: Kick-Ass
yeah, its tamer, though I wouldnt say infinitely. I say a little contrversial because there have been comments of the way Hit Girl is slightly sexed up in certain shots. Its cool seeing her kicking ass albeit in low budget and the video is pretty funny in an indie rock way though.soonforgotten wrote:

I think there are two sides to this. On one hand, you have the brilliant directorial work (visually, parts are really amazing), class soundtrack, pretty solid and orginal storyline, and great acting, particularly from Chloë Moretz. On the other, you have lots of extreme violence, and some more extreme violence, and a little bit more extreme violence, and a director that clearly thinks five minutes spent detailing how the protagonist really likes to masturbate is five minutes well-spent. Though maybe I was just hyper-aware of that last bit as I was watching with my mother… fyi, probably not the best movie to view with a parent.
All in all, however, I think that the humour and entertainment derived from this far outweigh its flaws, and though I don’t understand quite why the violence in this was considered less bad than the likes of Sweeney Todd (as evidenced by its “18” rating compared to Kick-Ass’s “15”), it wasn’t unbearably gruesome.

Re: Kick-Ass
The masturbation isn't just there for laughs, it's significant to the character.
Also, I wouldn't say there's any extreme violence.

Did anyone else read the article in yesterday's G2 about how journalist Tanya Gold dressed up as a superhero and went round London looking for wrongs to right? It would depend on your sense of humour but I was crying with laughter and that doesn't often happen. One man to whom she spoke pointed out the way she was dressed and said "And you're asking ME if I need help?!" The silly season must have started early this year...
