http://www.dorlingkindersley-uk.co.uk/s ... trail.html

Following on from the success of last year’s event and to celebrate the release of RHS How to Grow Practically Everything, DK, the RHS and The Society of Garden Designers have teamed up once again to bring you The Great London Garden Trail. On Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd May, 10 of London’s most beautifully designed gardens will be opened to the public for one day only. The gardens will be open from 12pm until 5pm and are free to visit.

Included in this year’s Trail are gardens designed by John Brookes and Andy Sturgeon and the trail focuses on growing and planting everything from plants and flowers to fruit and vegetables.

Ranging in size from small courtyards through to large family gardens and spread across London from Bow in the east through to Ealing in the west, visitors will be guaranteed a gardener’s treat to inspire the senses.

If you would like to visit any of the amazing gardens, please register to let us know you’ll be coming. Registration is not compulsory, but everyone who registers will be entered in to a prize draw to win a library of DK gardening books.

LONDON
MAY 06 2010

Four carefully chosen artists and fashion designers, whose output collectively cuts across and combines wildly different mediums and disciplines, have worked closely with Swatch to successfully realise their individual designs for the 2010 SWATCH & ART Collection.

Fashion label Cassette Playa (aka Carri Munden) from London, and artists Ivan Navarro from New York, Enki Bilal from France and Manish Arora from India have each converged their unique aesthetic with the pioneering spirit of Swatch for this exciting project.

The results will be unveiled at an extra-special event - resonating with and celebrating the freshest art and most forward-thinking fashion - in London.

Elephant Parade London 2010
http://www.elephantfamily.org/

I thought I will post this thread here (as some people may not have seen this thread in the death at a funeral) as it is like a free day out in London.

Here is a map showing where the life sized baby elephants are:
http://www.elephantparadelondon.org/ima ... utemap.pdf

Elephant Parade London celebrates the beauty of the magnificent Asian elephant. And this year – with 260 painted elephants in locations across London – it is the biggest and most beautiful outdoor art event the city has ever seen.

The elephants are on the streets of London from May until July, and are attracting an estimated audience of 25 million, raising a projected £2 million and benefiting 20 conservation charities in the UK alone.

Happy spotting!
