Cheap Thrills

#1 Post by sikmansam » Fri Jun 06, 2014 11:18 am

Saw this yesterday at a screening in the Warner Brothers studios with themed food, drinks and dares. I honestly didn't expect that much from the trailer but I was very pleasantly surprised, it was a dark, uncomfortably funny comedy that asks us how far you would go to save your own skin. Every character had a surprising level of interest to them, and it's so well done that some of the more outrageous moments (pooping in a neighbours house for example) feel completely plausible.

8/10

Also attended the Warner Bros event which was supposed to be a party full of food, drink and games.

It's very dark, horrifyingly funny, sometimes fast and desperate. I had my hands over my eyes for some of the scenes as I almost couldn't bare to watch. I thought it was a very good film and my friend also enjoyed it.

8/10

The only downside to the night was that I got food poisening from the party food and spent the whole of the next day and night trying to recover.

Just watched this and I agree with the comments above. It's very dark, blackly comic and uncomfortable, but extremely well done.

In isolation some of the situations are unbelievable, but in context, together with each characters motivations everything has a bizarre twisted logic to it. Worth tracking down and watching. 9/10
