Guardians of the Galaxy

#1 Post by thejason40 » Fri Jun 27, 2014 5:10 pm

I couldn't see a thread for Guardians of the Galaxy but I wanted to point out this tweet from Marvel UK:
Follow @MarvelUK & keep an eye out for chances to see #GuardiansoftheGalaxy BEFORE the UK release on July 31

looked fun, I guess. Star Wars meets superheroes. but no goodies to take away.

oh apart from.... the free 'imax poster' was a A3 size cruddy one you get in all the Odeons. how utterly Poop. Though if you hang several up in a row they look kinda Andy Warhol. But... did get some imax glasses for free. hmmm...

That 17 minutes clip was amazing! All the characters were introduced, and it looked a lot of fun and tongue in cheek, lots of amazing action and CGI.

During the intro we were told tickets will be on sell after the clip, and there were a lot of :giggle: about that!

Loved the Empire IMAX, I think you will get a good view from wherever you sit. However, they really squashed those new seats in, no leg room at all.

hmmm.... indeed.... there was a big notice on the screen before the clip was shown to say to return the glasses at the end of the screening, and when you left, indeed, there were two big buckets to drop them in with two ushers standing by them! :P

maybe raj101 has his own Imax screen at home? I thought Imax glasses are different than normal 3D so useless for anything else?

They are too big for me, I should have kept it for you! hehe.
The montage is a good idea! I really like the poster. o/

Saw it this morning in the Empire IMAX.
Alright film. Starts off so well, feels like it has personality, but soon forms into the Marvel movie mode. Everything fun is ignored for the sake of tedious plot and dull bad guys.
Not enough time spent with the team just hanging out, which is a shame, as they are all clearly well defined to the filmmakers, but barely make impact to the audience. I want scenes just chilling between Quill and Drax.

I saw it yesterday at the Multimedia screening and loved it. Taking out the whole Marvel thing, which I know nothing about, but just as a Summer SCI-FI blockbuster it was such fun. 8/10
