What If
Just back from the unlimited screening and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie.
The trailer above led me to expect a relatively forgettable romantic comedy but instead it turned out to be an incredibly sweet comedic drama with a great collection of extremely likeable characters.
Overall it did enough to get an 8/10 from me & IMO it's well worth a voucher when it goes on general release later this month...

Re: What If
Mediocre but then again, the idiots I had sitting in front and behind me, didn't help. I had higher hopes for this as I do like Dan Rad but it didn't do a lot for me.

What If (The F Word)
Couldn't find a thread so merge if there is one.
Back from Hamilton Vue.
This is a pretty average film. Some good bits, some not so good bits but basically the story of boy meets girl, girl has boyfriend, can they just stay friends? Well it didn't really do anything for me.
And I thought the cast were miscasted if that is a word. Daniel Radcliffe isn't the tallest guy in the world but to put him beside Adam Driver made him look like a hobbit. Whilst I wasn't sure what accent British Rafe Spall was putting on. And why Daniel Radcliffe's Wallace was living in Toronto. It took me ages to work out that was where it was set too. 5/10

Re: What If
Totally forgettable. Miles better than The Congress but still mediocre. We have had this story so many times before and it didn't work for me this time as I would choose Rafe Spall over Daniel Radcliffe any time! God know why they didn't call this "Fool's Gold". Also didn't agree with some of the language in the film, I swear myself but I didn't really need all those conversations about poo and other crap (hohum). And does the romantic lead always have to have an idiot friend? And did she go to Taiwan in the end? And do I really care?

Re: What If
I quite enjoyed this. It was fluff but perfectly acceptable fluff. Did feel like a British film rather than a Holywood one.

Re: What If
If you stayed till the end and before the credits where the names came up you would have seen with the girl and boy in animated form. It was pretty clever and better than the actual film.Beate wrote:And did she go to Taiwan in the end? And do I really care?
