Saw this yesterday at the fan screening at 20th Century Fox's offices. The larger screening room was full, so they opened the smaller screening room for the overflow, which only half filled up. There was a t-shirt, book and a bottle of water on each seat.

So much better than I expected. The film was very exciting and thrilling. The visuals are amazing and mesmerising. Gladers Unite! Really looking forward to the next one! 8/10

It's no Hunger Games but I can see the potential here. It has a Lord of the Flies vibe about it. 7/10.

I read the books years ago and at the time I found the story of the trilogy more solid than The Hunger Games (which I'd read just before, or at least the books published at that stage) so I was really excited to see it come alive on screen. Initially I didn't remember the characters very well, but my memory was quickly triggered and I'm glad that (from what I remember) most of the story was true to the novel. I was very impressed by the special effects and in particular the Maze itself, it looked very, very cool. A little less action-driven than what I remembered from the story but overall very solid. 8.5/10
